Conventionally, rubber fenders of various structures have been developed and put into practical use in order to be attached to quay walls to protect the sides of ships or quay walls from damage caused by collisions of ships.
In particular, as disclosed in the invention or device of Japanese Patent Publication No. 48-30316, Japanese Patent Publication No. 49-31073, or Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 49-34319, a support for one rubber fender installed on the flat surface of a quay. On one side of a frame formed by assembling shaped steel, wood or plastic frames in a lattice pattern, on the crest surface or between the crests of two or more rubber fenders Fenders of the type that are equipped with impact-receiving plate members equipped with impact-receiving pads made of hard rubber or low-friction materials such as polyethylene, polyamide, and tetrafluoroethylene are being used on ships that are becoming larger and larger. This has the advantage that the surface pressure on the ship's side can be reduced to effectively prevent damage to the ship's hull, and the quay protection area for each fender device is increased.
It is used as a quay facility exclusively for large ships.

In the rubber fender device equipped with the above-mentioned impact plate member, when the side surface of the target ship has a gentle curve that can be regarded as almost vertical as shown in FIG. 4A, even if the ship S is rocked up and down due to wave motion, the side surface of the ship S and the impact plate member B
Since sliding occurs between the rubber fender F and the low-friction pad P attached to the front of the fender F, no damage is caused to the rubber fender F itself.

However, in recent years, the shapes of ships have become more diverse, and in the case of a ship with a large flare, such as the car carrier shown in Figure 4B, the flare portion SF may end up riding on the impact plate member B, causing the ship to have a large flare. The vertical swing of S causes the rubber fender F to be pushed down and distorted, and then compressed toward the quay. As a result of being repeatedly subjected to such deformation action, the fender F is finally destroyed.

The present invention provides a solution to the above-mentioned problems, and is applicable not only to large ships with relatively gently curved sides such as tankers, but also to ships with large flared sides such as car carriers. It is an object of the present invention to provide a rubber fender with a shock absorbing plate member that can provide an effective buffering effect even when the vehicle is in use.

In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a rubber fender having a hard impact-receiving plate member on the impact-receiving top part whose contact surface with the ship's side is coated with a low-friction material. One or more rigid rollers are rotatably supported along the upper edge, and the rotating surface of the roller is located on a plane including the contact surface or on the rear side of the plane.

The rigid roller mounted along one side edge of the impact plate member is made of a rigid material such as metal, plastic or wood, and preferably the peripheral surface of the roller is coated with a rubber elastic material. Further, the roller may be formed to have approximately the same length as one side edge of the impact receiving plate member, or a plurality of rigid rollers formed to have a length shorter than the side edge may be formed along the side edge. As outlined above, the fender of the present invention can be installed on the top of one rubber fender, or installed between the tops of two or more rubber fenders. Since one or more rigid rollers are attached to one side edge of the rigid impact plate member, if a ship with a large flare comes alongside, the impact plate of the fender due to the rolling of the ship The frictional force with the member is
Simply rotating the rigid roller does not affect the impact plate member. In other words, of the huge force associated with the rolling of the ship, the vertical component is hardly transmitted to the impact plate member, and only the horizontal component directed toward the quay is transmitted to the impact plate, so the flare part is pushed down. It effectively prevents damage to the fender due to the action, and also exhibits the same buffering effect as conventional fenders with impact plates against horizontal component forces.

In addition, for vessels such as tankers whose gunwales are so gently curved that they can almost be called flat, the front surface of the impact plate member that makes surface contact with the gunwale should have low friction, similar to conventional fenders. The sliding action with the pads prevents damage to the hull.

The rigid roller 5 is constructed by applying a rubber coating 5b to the circumferential surface of a cylindrical iron rotating body 5a, and the circumferential surface of the roller 5 is an extension of the front plane of the impact plate member 2 as shown in the figure. It is arranged so as to be in contact with the virtual plane Y. Note that in this example, one rigid roller 5 was used, but according to another embodiment of the present invention,
A plurality of rigid rollers having a shorter length L can be arranged along said side edge 2a.

The above-described fender of this example can be used even if when a ship S with a large flare such as a car carrier approaches the berth, the flare part SF moves up and down due to its rolling and comes into contact with the rigid roller 5 of the fender of this example. Since the vertical movement merely rotates the roller and is hardly transmitted to the impact receiving plate member 2 and, by extension, to the fender itself, damage to the fender 1 due to the causes described above is reliably prevented. On the other hand, with respect to the load in the direction of the quay, the fender exhibits its own buffering effect in the same way as when a normal ship such as a tanker comes alongside the conventional fender shown in FIG. 4A.

As described above with examples, the present invention has the following features:
By providing one or more rigid rollers along one side edge of the impact plate member, it can be used not only for large ships such as tankers with relatively gently curved sides, but also for car carriers. It is possible to provide a rubber fender with an impact-receiving plate member that is free from damage and can provide an effective buffering effect even for ships having large flared sides.
