Seeds of flowers, vegetables, etc. are usually sown in potting soil and watered appropriately, but it is difficult to maintain the moisture necessary for germination and for initial growth after germination. In particular, if you forget to water, or if you forget to water but are unable to water for some reason, this can lead to a situation where seeds and seedlings after germination dry out.

The rod-shaped body 1 having water-absorbing and water-retaining properties is manufactured, for example, by the following method. A water-soluble and dispersible fiber sheet containing carboxymethyl cellulose as its main component (trade name: Desolbo, manufactured by Mishima Paper Co., Ltd.) weighing 30 g/m 2 was used, and this sheet was made into a sheet with a width of 8 cm.
Cut the sheet into strips, roll it from the end until it has a diameter of 8 mm, and then cut the sheet. Apply adhesive to the cut end and glue the rolled sheet so that it does not return to its original shape.
get. If the through hole 3 is provided in the center of the rod-shaped body 1, the sheet may be wrapped around a rod having a diameter of 1 to 2 mm, and the rod may be removed later. These through holes act as air passages, supplying oxygen to seeds and young seedlings. If you use the stick around which the sheet is wrapped as a fertilizer stick,
If this rod is left without being removed, a fertilizer rod will be inserted into the center of the rod-shaped body 1, and will supply fertilizer until the seedling grows into a firm seedling.

The length and thickness of the rod-shaped body 1 may be selected as appropriate. For example, the larger the seed, the thicker it will be, and if it is used in dry areas, it will be thicker and longer.

Alternatively, the rod-shaped body 1 may be made by hardening sawdust into a rod-shape with a water-soluble adhesive. Furthermore, paper materials used for toilet paper and tissue paper may also be used. It is sufficient to apply fertilizer to the rod-shaped body 1 or incorporate a water-absorbing resin as appropriate.

Seeds may be attached to one end of the rod-shaped body 1 using an adhesive by any method. Of particular note is the foam-like water-soluble adhesive, which, when dried and bonded in its foam form, easily absorbs water due to its large adhesive surface area, and is easily dissolved by water absorption. Therefore, it is completely dissolved and dispersed by watering, and does not adversely affect seed germination. The foamy water-soluble adhesive may be, for example, 9-18% polyvinyl alcohol foamed by blowing air into it. A germination promoter, a growth promoter, a fertilizer, a water retention agent, etc. may be mixed or dissolved in this foamy water-soluble adhesive. Further, polyvinyl acetate may be mixed with this solution in order to increase the strength of the foam film. The pH of the water-soluble adhesive is 2 to 6 because it does not damage the fibers when water-soluble and dispersible fibers containing carboxymethyl cellulose as the main component are used for the water-absorbing and water-retaining rod 1. , more preferably 3

Seeds are small sheets that are soluble in water or glued to small sheets that are soluble and dispersible in water.
Of course, there are also processed products such as those in which one or more seeds are dropped into a drop of foamy water-soluble adhesive and dried in the foamy form.
You can freely use items that are not processed at all.

Add dilute hydrochloric acid to an 18% aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol, adjust the pH to 4, and blow air into the water-soluble adhesive to form fine foam. 0.3 to 0.5 ml was dropped at intervals, peppermint seeds were attached one by one on top of the dropped foamy water-soluble adhesive, and then air-dried to leave the adhesive in a foamy state. . After drying, the hemisphere of the dried foamy water-soluble adhesive containing the peppermint seeds was peeled off from the vinyl chloride plate to obtain a hemispherical seed mass coated with the dried foamy water-soluble adhesive.

When one end of this rod-shaped body 1 is slightly wetted with water and the flat part of the hemispherical seed mass is pressed against the end surface of the rod-shaped body 1 coated with water, the water contained in the end surface of the rod-shaped body is absorbed into the hemispherical seed mass. A seed mass is glued to one end of the rod 1 by dissolving the dried foamy water-soluble adhesive on the mass. Thereafter, it was left for a while or air-dried to obtain a rod-shaped seeding tool.

The rod-shaped seeding tool obtained in the above example is used by plowing the soil in a field or flower pot to make the soil soft, and then inserting the end of the rod-shaped seeding tool that does not have the seeds 2 into the soil. Depending on the type of seed 2 placed, either align the position of the seed 2 with the surface of the soil, or lower it slightly below the surface of the soil and mound it a little on top of the seed 2, and then water the seed 2 from above the sowing tool. The rod-shaped body, which has water-absorbing and water-retaining properties, absorbs water, retains the absorbed water, and replenishes moisture to the seeds placed on the rod-shaped body.On the other hand, the seed mass also absorbs water during irrigation. The water-soluble dry foam adhesive absorbs the water, causing the adhesive to dissolve. The melted adhesive stays around the seeds for a while, exhibiting a moderate viscosity that prevents the seeds from moving until they germinate. During the next watering, the rod-like body absorbs water, retains the absorbed water, continues to supply the necessary moisture to the seeds, ensures safe and reliable germination, and after germination, ensures safe and reliable growth of seedlings.

[Effects of the Invention] The present invention has the configuration as described above, and has seeds 2 adhered to one end of a rod-shaped body 1 having water absorbing and water retaining properties. Therefore, anyone can easily sow seeds by simply sticking the rod-shaped body 1 into the soil with the seed portion facing up.When watered, the rod-shaped body 1 absorbs water.
It retains moisture and supplies the moisture necessary for germination of seeds 2, and even when not watered, the moisture in the soil is transferred to the rod-shaped body 1.
absorbs water, supplies moisture to seeds and promotes germination.
Moisture is reliably supplied to the germinated seedlings, so that initial sprouting and initial growth are completely and reliably carried out.
