A device for rotating machinery comprising a light emitting element that emits light and a light receiving element that receives light transmitted through lubricating oil, and configured to measure the amount of wear particles in lubricating oil based on the light transmittance of the lubricating oil. In the optical wear particle detection device, another light receiving element is provided near the light emitting element to detect the amount of light emitted from the light emitting element, and the amount of light emitted by the light emitting element is determined based on the result of detection of the amount of emitted light by this other light receiving element. An optical wear powder detection device for a rotating machine, characterized in that it is provided with a light amount adjustment means for adjusting the amount of light to a constant value. (2) The light emitting element is composed of an infrared light emitting diode that emits pulsed light, and an aspherical lens is arranged in the light projecting part and the light receiving part to the lubricating oil flow path, and the inner surface of the lubricating oil flow path. 2. The optical wear powder detection device for a rotating machine according to claim 1, further comprising a coating for preventing diffused reflection.
