Carpets for automobiles are usually lined with a thermoplastic resin on the back side, heated from the back side, then formed into a desired shape, cut around the outer periphery, and then laid on the floor of the car. In this case, in order to save carpet material, the parts that protrude from the carpet body, such as the legs and fins, are formed by machine sewing, or hemp threads woven into a lattice called jute are made of polyethylene or other hot material. This was laminated with plastic resin, and this was placed on the joint between the main carpet and the backing carpet, and a hot mold with a built-in heater was pressed against it to fix both carpets together.

In other words, when joining using a sewing machine, it is necessary to sew with thread of the same color as the floor carpet in order to give it a good look and feel of luxury. Moreover, the threads had to be changed every time the color of the floor carpet changed, which resulted in an increase in costs. In particular, in recent years, there has been a tendency for floor carpets to come in many different colors, coupled with an increase in the variety of vehicle models, and the above-mentioned problems have become more apparent.

Furthermore, due to the difference in weather resistance between the floor carpet and the sewing thread, over time, either the thread or the floor carpet fades first, which becomes noticeable and impairs the aesthetic appearance.

Furthermore, another problem is that when sewing the carpet body and the backing carpet for legs and fins, it is necessary to match the sewn parts of both carpets, which requires skill and requires improvement in terms of man-hours. was desired. This matching process also applies to welding and fixing with jute.

Therefore, in order to eliminate the trouble of changing the color of the sewing thread, it has been implemented to use a transparent thread such as polyamide or vinylon as the sewing thread. Transparent threads have the advantage of eliminating the need to replace threads to match the color of the carpet, but as time passes, the transparency smolders and acquires a color that does not match the carpet, making it unattractive. However, this did not solve the problem of reducing the number of sewing steps.

On the other hand, in the method of welding and fixing carpets by overlapping them, in recent years there has been a trend to increase the amount of resin backing material in order to improve various properties such as sound insulation and rigidity. However, when welding by hot pressing, there was a problem in that heat was difficult to conduct to the main carpet, and even if it was fixed, the strength was low and it would peel off easily. Furthermore, if the backing resin layer is thick, heat conduction is poor, so the hot mold may be pressed against the backing carpet for a long time, resulting in the backing carpet being scorched.

The present invention aims to overcome the above-mentioned problems and provide a carpet that does not require special processing or materials, is a simple process, and has a good appearance.

A main body carpet whose back side is lined with a sheet-like thermoplastic resin is overlapped over an opening forming part of a backing carpet in which one or more openings are partially formed, and the back side of the main body carpet is lined with a sheet-like thermoplastic resin. The backing carpet is fixed by softening and melting the thermoplastic resin by heating and guiding it to the back side through the opening of the backing carpet and solidifying it.

Next, the present invention will be described by way of examples with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing the main parts of a floor carpet to which the present invention is applied, where 1 is the main body of the floor carpet for an automobile, and 2 is a leg part attached thereto. The main body 1 and the foot 2 are connected to the main body 1 through a plurality of openings formed in the overlapping portion 3 of the feet 2 by melting the lining material 4 lining the back of the foot 2. It is firmly fixed. The overlapping width of the overlapping portion 3 is preferably in the range of 3 to 10 cm. If it is less than 3 cm, the adhesive area between the main body 1 and the legs 2 will be small and will peel off when pulled. On the other hand, if the length is 10 cm or more, the heat from the thermal mold 5 will be difficult to conduct to the backing material 4, and strong adhesive strength will not be obtained. Here, the floor carpet main body 1 that can be used includes a tufted carpet, a needle punch carpet, and the like. The back side of these carpets is lined with a thermoplastic resin which provides shape retention to the carpet and serves to adhere the felt to desired locations on the back side. The backing material 4 used may be a thermoplastic resin such as low-density polyethylene, polypropylene, or ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, or a mixture of these resins with calcium carbonate, barium sulfate, talc, etc. as a filler. . Carpet body 1
It is preferable to use the same pile, the same backing material resin, and the same color for the carpet of the foot 2 in terms of appearance and design, and good adhesive strength can be obtained. The size of the opening formed in leg 2 is 5 to 10 mm.
It is preferable that the number is in the range of , and the number may be one or more, and can be determined depending on the area to be overlapped. Further, the thermal mold 5 generally has a built-in heater (cartridge heater), and is preferably equipped with a function that allows the temperature to be varied within the range of 100°C to 400°C. This is to cope with the melting of various backing material 4 resins.

Next, attach the legs 2 to the carpet body 1 at the overlapping section 3.
The specific method of bonding will be explained below. First, the carpet body 1 was prepared by coating the back side of a tufted carpet made of nylon yarn (pile weight: 500 g/m 2 ) with 450 g/m 2 of low-density polyethylene resin as the backing material 4. The legs 2 were made of the same material as the carpet body 1. Leg 2 has a diameter of 10mm in advance.
A large number of openings 6 are formed in advance. As shown in FIG. 2, the legs 2 were overlapped on the rear part of the back surface of the carpet body 1 with an overlap margin of about 5 cm width. Then, heat mold 5, which has been heated to about 120℃ in advance.
was pressed against the opening formed in the leg 2, and the low density polyethylene resin lined on the back surface of the main body 1 was melted, thereby fixing the main body 1 and the leg 2.

[Effect of the invention] As explained above, the molten backing resin of the main carpet flows into the openings formed in the legs of the backing carpet and closes the openings, so it is mechanically bonded and strengthened. big. and,
Due to the opening formed in the backing carpet, heat conduction from the hot mold to the main carpet is performed uniformly, which eliminates poor adhesion due to variations in the thickness of the carpet and burning of the carpet due to long-term pressure of the hot mold. Furthermore, there is no need to arrange jute or sewing threads of various colors, and the carpet main body and foot can be fixed without using these materials, resulting in cost reduction.

Furthermore, if it is necessary to change the mounting position of the backing carpet (the length of the flipper) due to a change in the type of vehicle, this can be easily done without changing the model or device.
