Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 （産業上の利用分野） 本発明はシリコーングリース、特には鋼と鋼の
極圧潤滑特性を改良することによつて機器の被潤
滑部の摩耗を軽減し、機器の寿命を長くすること
のできるシリコーングリースに関するものであ
る。
（従来の技術） シリコーン油は粘度温度特性、耐熱耐酸化性、
剪断安定化、化学的安定性がすぐれていることか
ら潤滑油として望ましいものとされており、事実
シリコーン油を基油としたシリコーングリースは
すぐれた温度特性、耐熱性、耐酸化性、化学的安
定性を示す。
しかし、このシリコーン油は鉱油や合成油にく
らべて鋼対鋼などの境界潤滑性が貧弱なために、
高速、高荷重での使用には適さず、その用途にか
なり制限がある。このため、シリコーン油に脂肪
酸やその誘導体、塩素化合物、弗素化合物、リン
化合物、アミン化合物、ほう素、鉛、マンガン、
すずの有機化合物などのような油性向上剤、極圧
添加剤を加えてその境界潤滑性を改良することも
試みられており、これについては塩素化パラフイ
ンやジアルキルクロレンデートを添加する方法
（特公昭51−38864号公報参照）なども提案されて
いるが、これらは耐熱性の点から高温での使用の
際に金属の著しい腐蝕があることから耐熱性、耐
酸化性のすぐれたシリコーングリースの特性を損
なうという欠点がある。
（発明の構成） 本発明はこのような不利を解決した鋼−鋼間の
極圧潤滑特性を改良したシリコーングリースに関
するものであり、これは構造式 で示される１，２，３，４，７，８，９，10，
13，13，14，14−ドデカクロロ−１，４，4a，
５，６，6a，７，10，10a，11，12，12−ドデカ
ヒドロ−１，４；７，10−ジメタノジベンゾ
〔ａ，ｅ〕シクロオクテンを0.5〜50重量含有する
ことを特徴とするものである。
これを説明すると、本発明者らはシリコーング
リースの鋼−鋼間の極圧潤滑特性を改良する方法
について種々検討したところ、これにはシリコー
ンオイルに上記した構造式(1)で示される特定の塩
素化合物を添加するとグリース添加物として公知
の塩素化合物である塩素化パラフインやジアルキ
ルクロレンデートにくらべて耐熱性がすぐれてお
り、高温での熱分解による塩素ガス、塩酸ガスの
発生が少なく、極圧部分とのみ反応するので高温
で使用しても金属を著しく腐蝕することがなく、
また鋼−鋼間の極圧潤滑性が改良されるので被潤
滑部の摩耗が低減されること、したがつてこれを
添加したシリコーングリースは高速高荷重の極圧
状態での潤滑を可能とするものとなり、使用する
機器の寿命延長され、補修に要する費用も大巾に
低減させることができるということを見出して本
発明を完成させた。
本発明のシリコーングリースはシリコーンオイ
ルに上記した特定の塩素化物を添加したものであ
るが、このシリコーンオイルに添加される塩素化
物は前記した式 で示される１，２，３，４，７，８，９，10，
13，13，14，14−ドデカクロロ−１，４，4a，
５，６，6a，７，10，10a，11，12，12a−ドデ
カヒドロ−１，４；７，10−ジメタノベンゾ
〔ａ，ｅ〕シクロオクテンとされ、このものは米
国Hooker Chemical社から粒径が２〜5μまたは
５〜15μのものがデクロランプラスという商品名
で市販されているものとすればよいが、本発明の
目的からは粒径２〜5μのものとすることがよい。
なお、このものの添加量は上記したシリコーンオ
イル100重量部に対し0.5重量部以下ではその添加
効果が不充分となり、50重量部以上とするとトル
クの増大が起るので0.5〜50重量部の範囲とする
ことが必要とされるが、この好ましい範囲は５〜
50重量部とされる。
つぎに本発明の実施例をあげるが、例中の部は
重量部を、粘度は25℃での測定値を示したもので
ある。
実施例１、比較例１ 全有機基の95％がメチル基、５％がフエニル基
で粘度が1000cSのメチルフエニルシリコーン油
68部にリチウムステアレート15部を添加したシリ
コーングリースに１，２，３，４，７，８，９，
10，13，13，14，14−ドデカクロロ−１，４，
4a，５，６，6a，７，10，10a，11，12a，−ドデ
カヒドロ−１，４；７，10−ジメタノベンゾ
〔ａ，ｅ〕シクロオクテン17部を添加してグリー
ス（）を作ると共に、比較のために上記の塩素
化物を添加しないで上記したシリコーン油85部に
リチウムステアレート15部を添加したグリース
（）を作つた。
つぎにこのグリース（）、（）についての曽
田式高速４球式摩耗試験機による1/2インチ鋼球
の摩耗痕の比較をしたところ、40Kgの荷重下にお
ける2400rpmの５分間試験でグリース（）では
直径1.20mmの摩耗痕が測定されたのに対しグリー
ス（）では直径2.65mmの摩耗痕が測定され、グ
リース（）はグリース（）にくらべて摩耗痕
が減少しており、極圧条件下での潤滑性が明らか
に改良されていることが確認された。
実施例２、比較例２ 全有機基の75％がメチル基、25％がフエニル基
で粘度が450cSであるメチルフエニルシリコーン
油55部にポリテトラフルオロエチレン粉末30部を
加えたシリコーングリースに、１，２，３，４，
７，８，９，10，13，13，14，14−ドデカクロロ
−１，４，4a，５，６，6a，７，10，10a，11，
12a，−ドデカヒドロ−１，４；７，10−ジメタ
ノベンゾ〔ａ，ｅ〕シクロオクテン15部を加えて
グリース（）を作ると共に、比較のために上記
の塩素化物を添加しないで上記シリコーン油70部
とポリテトラフルオロエチレン粉末30部とからな
るグリース（）を作つた。
つぎにこのグリース（）、（）を両面ツール
ド板付のベアリング（6204タイプ）に１ｇ宛充填
して寿命試験を行なつたところ、回転数
10000rpm、スラスト荷重2.27Kg、ラジアル荷重
2.25Kg、ベアリング外輪温度250℃の試験条件に
おいてベアリングの焼付によつて停止するまでの
時間はグリース（）の550時間に対しグリース
（）は113時間であり、グリース（）はグリー
ス（）にくらべて、ベアリング試験による寿命
が大巾に延長されていることが確認された。
実施例３、比較例３ 実施例１で使用したメチルフエニルシリコーン
油68部に塩素化パラフイン（塩素含有量70％）17
部とリチウムステアレート15部を加えてグリース
（）を作つた。
つぎに上記した実施例１、２で作つたグリース
（）、（）とこのグリース（）をサンドペー
パーで表面を研磨した鋼板に塗布したのち、これ
を200℃に保持されている熱風循環式恒温槽中に
24時間放置してからグリースをふきとつて鋼板の
表面を観察したところ、グリース（）、（）で
は鋼板表面に変色や錆は殆んど認められなかつた
が、グリース（）では塗布部およびその周辺に
著しい腐蝕が認められ、本発明によるグリース
（）、（）には金属の腐蝕性がなく、潤滑性、
特に極圧特性の改良されていることが確認され
た。

    ５，６，6a，７，10，10a，11，12，12a−ドデ
    カヒドロ−１，４；７，10−ジメタノジベンゾ
    〔ａ，ｅ〕シクロオクテンを0.5〜50重量％含有す
    ることを特徴とするシリコーングリース。
