Conventionally, many electronic components have been supplied in the form of taped electronic component series. The taped electronic component series has a structure in which a large number of electronic components are arranged at a predetermined pitch in the longitudinal direction of a long base member and fixed using adhesive tape or the like. Such a series of taped electronic components is configured to be applied to a predetermined automatic insertion machine, and the automatic insertion machine enables electronic components to be automatically mounted on a printed circuit board or the like. By the way, the connection of taped electronic component series has conventionally been performed as follows. First, as shown in FIG. 2, a series of taped electronic components 1 and 2 to be connected is prepared. In Figure 2, 3
, 4 indicates a long base member, which is usually made of paper or a non-stretchable synthetic resin film. A plurality of feed holes 5, 6 are formed in the elongated base members 3, 4 at a predetermined pitch along the longitudinal direction. In the illustrated state, the ends 1a and 2a of the taped electronic component series 1 and 2 to be connected are cut near the center of one feed hole. Lead terminals 7a, 7 of electronic components 7, 8 with leads are provided on one side of the base members 3, 4.
b, 8a and 8b are pasted and fixed with long adhesive tapes 9 and 10. Electronic components with leads 7, 8
A plurality of are fixed at a predetermined pitch along the longitudinal direction of the base members 3 and 4. When connecting the taped electronic component series 1 and 2, first, the respective ends 1a and 2a are butted together. In the abutted state, a feed hole 11 is formed on the ends 1a and 2a. Next, a connecting tape 12 is attached from one side of the taped electronic component series 1 and 2. The connection tape 12 is usually made of stretchable paper called crepe paper, and has an adhesive applied to one side. Furthermore, a hole 12a is formed in the center of the connecting tape 12. The hole 12a has a taping electronic component series 1.
, 2 is configured to have a larger diameter than the feed holes 5, 6, and 11 of . Similarly, semicircular notches 12b and 12c are formed at both ends of the connecting tape 12. The cutouts 12b and 12c are formed in a semicircular shape with a size obtained by dividing the hole 12a in half. Therefore, with the connection tape 12 attached to the taped electronic component series 1 and 2,
In the hole 12a and the notches 12b, 12c, feed holes 5, 6,
It can be seen that 11 are arranged with ample margin. The hole 12a and the notches 12b, 12c are connected to the feed holes 5, 6, 1.
The reason why it is made larger than 1 is to allow for deviation in the attachment position of the connection tape 12.

However, the conventional connection method using the connection tape 12 has the following problems. The taped electronic component series 1 and 2 connected as shown in FIG. 3 are placed in an automatic insertion machine in the connected state. In this case, since the automatic insertion machine moves while pulling the taped electronic component series, tension is applied to the connection portion. As a result, as shown in FIG. 4, the connection tape 12 may stretch, and a gap 13 may be formed between the end 1a of the taped electronic component series 1 and the end 2a of the taped electronic component series 2. When the gap 13 is formed in this way, the interval between the feed holes 5, 6 and the feed hole 11 becomes larger than the feed hole pitch in the taped electronic component series 1, 2, and the diameter of the feed hole 11 also becomes larger. 5 and 6, and the sprocket of the automatic insertion machine sometimes made it impossible to feed accurately. In addition, the hole 12a of the connection tape 12
are formed larger than the feed holes 5, 6, and 11 as described above, so when the connecting tape 12 is attached to the base members 3 and 4, the pitch between the feed holes is already adjusted by the automatic insertion machine. In some cases, the standards that could be supplied were exceeded.

As mentioned above, in the connection method of this embodiment,
Since the taped electronic component series 1 and 2 are connected by the non-stretchable connection tape 22, even if tension is applied to the taped electronic component series 1 and 2, the connection tape 22 does not stretch, so the taped electronic component series End 1a between 1 and 2,
There is no fear that a gap will occur between 2a. Therefore, the feed hole 5
, 6, and 11 are maintained at the pitches at the beginning of the connection. Furthermore, in the above connection work, the connection jig 22 is used to connect the plurality of projections 21a, 21a, 21a to each feed hole 5,
6, 11 and the hole 22a are inserted, and the connection is made. Therefore, the taping electronic component series 1, 2 are connected in such a way that the pitch of the feed holes 5, 6, 11 is reliably equal to the original pitch of the feed holes 5, 6 of the taping electronic component series 1, 2. In addition, in the connection method of this embodiment, as is clear from FIG. 7, the width of the connection tape 22 is narrower than the elongated base members 3 and 4 and does not reach the width of the adhesive tapes 9 and 10. has been done. This is to maintain the thickness of the connecting tape 22 after it is pasted within a thickness that can be applied to an automatic insertion machine, as shown in FIG. That is, the thicknesses of the elongated base members 3, 4 and the adhesive tapes 9, 10 are usually as follows:
The thickness is equal to the maximum thickness that can be applied to an automatic insertion machine when the adhesive tapes 9 and 10 are bonded together. Therefore, when the connecting tape 22 is pasted onto the adhesive tapes 9 and 10, the thickness may become too thick to be supplied by an automatic insertion machine. Therefore, in this embodiment, the width of the connecting tape 22 is set to a width that does not reach the adhesive tapes 9 and 10.

It should be noted that the cross-sectional shape and number of protrusions 21b of the connection jig 21 and the opening shape and number of holes 22a of the connection tape are not limited to the shape and number shown in the drawings. That is, it may be changed as appropriate depending on the shape of the series of taped electronic components to be connected, the shape of the feed hole, etc. Furthermore, the connecting tape 22 is made of a non-stretchable material as described above, but such non-stretchable materials include paper and the like used to construct the base members 3 and 4. An appropriate material such as a synthetic resin film can be used.

According to the present invention, since the series of taped electronic parts are connected to each other by the non-stretchable connecting tape, the pitch of the feed holes can be maintained accurately even if tension is applied after the connection. Further, using a connecting jig having a plurality of protrusions having the same pitch as the feed hole pitch and an outer diameter equal to the feed hole diameter, the connection is performed with both taped electronic component series and the connection tape accurately positioned. Therefore, the series of taped electronic components to be connected are connected while reliably maintaining a predetermined perforation pitch. Therefore, it becomes possible to reliably and continuously insert the electronic components onto the circuit board by applying the connected series of taped electronic components to the automatic insertion machine.
