Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the fertilizer for foliage dressing which has the good absorptivity from leaves into plants and does not harm the plants by using calcium propionate as its effective component. CONSTITUTION:This fertilizer for foliage dressing of the plants consists of the calcium propionate as its effective component. The calcium propionate is currently used as a food additive as well and has the high safety to the human body. The form of the above-mentioned fertilizer may be either liquid or solid and is so prepd. as to form an aq. calcium propionate soln. of a prescribed concn. at the time of use. The addition of a surfactant, such as spreading agent, for promoting the absorption to the plant bodies is possible as well. While the concn. of the calcium propionate in the aq. soln. to be sprayed onto the leaf surface of the plants varies with the kinds of the plants, the aq. soln. is generally sprayed as the aq. soln. of 0.1 to 1%. The above-mentioned calcium fertilizer is effectual with a small amt.
