On the other hand, if such a sheet-like reflective object itself not only retroreflects incident light but also emits light on its own to reveal the existence of the sheet-like reflective object, its function will be even more effective. It is possible.

In order to meet such requests, the applicant has already filed an application with the Office for a sheet-like reflective material characterized by including and distributing a phosphorescent pigment in retroreflective glass beads. . (Utility Model Registration Application No. 34240 (1985 Utility Model Registration No. 153079)):
Hereinafter referred to as the previous idea. ). However, in the configuration of the previous design, since the luminescent pigment is included in all the glass beads, the transmittance of the glass beads themselves decreases, and therefore the retroreflection performance of the reflective object does not deteriorate. I couldn't do it. An object of the present invention is to provide a reflective material that has luminescent properties, prevents deterioration of retroreflection performance, and provides effects not found in conventional sheet-like reflective materials and previous designs.

(Structure of the invention) Generally, the most effective method for emitting light without providing a special light-emitting energy source is to use a luminescent pigment.

As shown in FIG. 1, the sheet-like reflective material is coated with luminous paint in the incident film 1 and the reflective film 3, so that the sheet-like reflective material can absorb solar energy during the day or at night. It is thought that light energy etc. from incident light is accumulated and emitted light for a certain period of time, but phosphorescent paint is composed of a phosphorescent pigment such as phosphorus and paint, and the phosphorescent paint is applied to the incident film or reflective film. When distributed, the phosphorescent pigment and the heavy metals in the paint are excited by the incident light and cause a chemical reaction, and the entire phosphorescent paint changes color to a gray color with poor transparency, causing the incident film 1 and the reflective film to discolor. The transparency of No. 3 will be extremely deteriorated, and the retroreflection performance of the reflective sheet will be deteriorated.

On the other hand, when a phosphorescent pigment is included in glass, the glass does not contain heavy metals that react with the phosphorescent pigment, so the phosphorescent pigment hardly changes color even when exposed to incident light.

The previous design focused on this point and formed a sheet-like reflective material by distributing luminescent pigments in glass beads as shown in Figure 1. The idea is to construct a sheet-like reflective material by distributing such glass beads and glass beads containing no luminescent pigment and embedding them in an incident film and a reflective film.

FIG. 2 shows an example in which glass beads containing a phosphorescent pigment and glass beads not containing a phosphorescent pigment of approximately the same size are appropriately distributed and buried.
FIG. 3 shows an example in which small glass beads that do not contain a luminescent pigment are placed in the valleys of a reflective film formed by glass beads that do not contain a luminescent pigment. The present invention is not limited to this embodiment.

Although shown as circular, the cross section of actual glass beads does not necessarily have such an ideal circular shape, and is often deformed into a slightly elliptical shape.

(Effect of the invention) With the invention having such a configuration, the sheet-like reflective material accumulates incident energy from sunlight during the day and lights at night, and retroreflects the incident light at night. , it is possible to emit light based on these accumulated energies, and the existence of the sheet-like reflective object can be revealed (this point is the same effect as the previous invention). In the present invention, in addition to the glass beads containing the phosphorescent pigment described above, there are also transparent glass beads that do not contain this pigment, so that the light of the glass beads as in the previous invention does not change. It becomes possible to considerably prevent a decrease in the transmittance of the reflective material and a decrease in retroreflection performance.

In the embodiment shown in FIG. 3, retroreflection is achieved by placing small glass beads containing a phosphorescent pigment in the valleys of the reflective film formed by glass beads that do not contain the phosphorescent pigment. The performance is mainly performed by the glass beads 21 that do not contain a luminescent pigment, while the luminescent performance is performed by the glass beads 22 that contain a luminescent pigment,
It is possible to fully utilize the functions of both. That is, with the present invention, it is possible to obtain a sheet-like reflective material that can reveal its presence by emitting light without significantly reducing its inherent retroreflective performance. Therefore, it can be used to clarify the recognition of road traffic signs regardless of the presence or absence of incident light, and also for decoration.
It is extremely effective as it can produce a noticeable effect.
