Conventionally, sheet-like reflective materials used for road traffic signs or decorations have had the function of making the presence of traffic signs clear by retroreflecting incident light from cars, etc. in almost the same direction. .

By the way, if such a sheet-like reflective object itself not only retroreflects incident light, but also emits light to reveal the presence of a road sign, it would be able to perform its function even more. Needless to say.

(Structure of the invention) The most effective method conceivable for emitting light without providing a special light-emitting energy source is to use a phosphorescent paint.

Also, in the case of sheet-shaped reflective objects, paints such as acrylic resin, alkyd resin, and polyvinyl butyral resin are used for the incident film 1 and the reflective film 3, respectively, as shown in the drawing. It is conceivable that by including a phosphorescent paint in the reflective material, the reflective material can store solar energy during the day or light energy from incident light from a car or the like at night, and emit light for a certain period of time (for example, in practice The configurations disclosed in Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 57-133004 and Japanese Utility Model Application No. 55-41801 also adhere to the same technical idea.) However, the incident film 1 and the reflective film 3 are simply as described above. Not only synthetic resin exists, but various paints are distributed because when the incident light is retroreflected, it becomes colored light to represent road signs, etc., and is reflected from the reflective sheet. Moreover, there are various colored pigments in paints.

Generally, heavy metals are used in reflective pigments in paints, and on the other hand, the phosphorescent content includes elements that easily react with heavy metals such as phosphorus, so the colored heavy metals in paints and phosphorescent pigments are Chemical reactions occur when excited by light and reflected light.

For this reason, the phosphorescent paint itself gradually changes color to a color with poor transparency, such as gray or grayish black, which deteriorates the transparency of the incident film 1 and the reflective film 3.

Such deterioration of the transparency of the incident film 1 and the reflective film 3 will reduce the retroreflection efficiency of the sheet-like reflective material, which will become a fatal defect of the sheet-like reflective material, and this will cause the phosphorescent pigment distribution to deteriorate. I have to say that the disadvantages outweigh the advantages.

On the other hand, in the attached drawing, behind the reflector 4 is a release layer 5.
There is no paint containing colored pigments in this area.

However, even if the phosphorescent pigment is distributed in the release layer 5, the light that has already entered is reflected by the reflector 4 and rarely enters the release layer 5, so the phosphorescent pigment distributed in this area is The function of absorbing light and emitting light is obstructed by the reflector 4, and the function of the phosphorescent pigment cannot be fully exhibited.

On the other hand, when phosphorescent pigments are included and distributed in glass, the phosphorescent pigments do not react with the phosphorescent pigments because the glass generally does not contain heavy metals that react with the phosphorescent pigments. No discoloration.

The present invention has focused on such points, and is characterized in that the phosphorescent pigment is included and distributed in the glass beads, as shown in the dots in the glass beads in the drawings.

In the drawings, the cross section of the glass beads is drawn as a circle, but in reality, it does not necessarily have such an ideal circular shape and is often deformed into an elliptical shape. .

(Effects of the invention) With the invention having such a configuration, the sheet-like reflector accumulates incident light energy from sunlight during the day, retroreflects the incident light from the headlight even at night, and The presence of a traffic sign can be revealed by accumulating a certain amount of incident light energy in glass beads and emitting light based on these accumulated energies. That is, with the present invention, not only retroreflective performance against incident light but also road traffic signs and decorations reveal their existence by emitting light for a certain period of time. Regardless of the presence or absence of road traffic information, it is possible to clearly provide information on road traffic, and it is extremely effective in terms of calling attention to road signs and providing new decorative effects in decoration.

In addition, the phosphorescent pigment does not contain heavy metals in the glass beads that would cause a chemical reaction with the phosphorescent pigment when excited by incident light or retroreflected light.
The luminescent pigment in the glass beads does not change color semi-permanently and can perform its function.

For this reason, compared to the case where phosphorescent pigments are distributed in the incident film 1 and the reflective film 3 as in the conventional technology, the above-mentioned excellent effects are maintained without reducing the recurrence reflection function of the sheet-like reflective material. You can.
