Abstract

PURPOSE:To cut off radiated heat coming from the engine side using a heat insulating material and releasing heat from that side wall face of a storage battery from which the heat insulating material is removed so as to prevent the battery covered at its side wall faces with the heat insulating material from being heated to high temperature by removing the heat insulating material from at least one side wall face of the storage battery. CONSTITUTION:The side wall face 1 of a storage battery 3 is covered by a heat insulating material 2 made from polyurethane resin and the heat insulating material 2 is removed from at least one side wall face 1. Radiated heat received by that side wall face 1 of the battery which is opposite to the engine side is thereby cut off by the heat insulating material 2 and heat is promptly released from that side wall face 1 from which the insulating material 2 is removed. The storage battery 3 is prevented from being heated to high temperature and hence its life is extended.

Prior Art and Its Problems Modern passenger cars have extremely compact engines, so the storage batteries mounted on them are located close to the engine. For this reason, the storage battery often becomes hot due to the heat from the engine and reaches the end of its life prematurely. As a method for preventing this, various methods have been proposed in which the entire side wall surface (four sides) of the storage battery is covered with a heat insulating material.

しかし、上記方法は何れの場合においても、時間の経過

However, in any of the above methods, the temperature of the storage battery continues to rise gradually over time, and eventually reaches a high temperature, resulting in the 1F battery reaching the end of its life span prematurely. That is, in the conventional method, the time it takes for the storage battery to reach a certain high temperature is only somewhat longer, and it does not provide a fundamental solution to preventing the storage battery from increasing in temperature.

発明の目的 本発明は上記問題点を解決したもので、蓄電池の外装構

OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION The present invention solves the above-mentioned problems and prevents the storage battery from increasing in temperature with a simple structure by improving the exterior structure of the storage battery.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the storage battery of the present invention, and shows the storage battery 3 of the present invention.
The side wall surface 1 is covered with a heat insulating material 2, but the heat insulating material 2 is removed from at least one side wall surface 1. As the heat insulating material 2, for example, a hard polyurethane resin is excellent in terms of heat insulating effect. The S' battery 5 of the present invention is used with the side covered with the heat insulating material 2 facing the engine side. As a result, radiant heat from the engine side can be blocked by the heat insulating material 2, and
Since heat is rapidly radiated from the side wall surface 1 on the opposite side of the engine from which the heat insulating material 2 has been removed, the storage battery 3 cannot handle high fA.
