Abstract

PURPOSE:To make color difference of a irradiating light due to light source color temperatures less conspicuous by making a reflecting surface of a reflector, constituting a part of an irradiating section with an incandescent lamp as a light source, bluish-colored by surface treatment. CONSTITUTION:When a main beam of a vehicle headlight 1 is used, both halogen lamps 11, 11' and metal halide lamps 12, 12' are lit. Light beams (l), (l),... radiated from the halogen lamps 11, 11' sideward and backward are reflected forward by reflector surfaces 6a, 6'a as bluish light beams lb, lb,.... As a result, a widened light distribution pattern 17 is formed. A light distribution pattern 19 having a cut line 18 is formed by light beams lm, lm... produced by metal halide lamps 12, 12'. Therefore, the overall light distribution pattern is the pattern produced by overlapping both patterns 17 and 19. The radiated light in this case is bluish as a whole and color temperature difference inherent to the light source becomes less conspicuous.

Industrial Application Field) The present invention relates to a novel vehicle headlamp. Specifically, in vehicle headlights that have an incandescent bulb and a discharge lamp as light sources, the light from the incandescent bulb is reflected in the front of the vehicle so that the difference in color temperature of these light sources does not appear as a difference in the light color of the irradiation beam. The present invention aims to provide a novel vehicle headlamp in which the surface of the reflecting mirror is treated to give it a bluish tint, or a blue light transmitting filter is placed in front of the incandescent light bulb.

(B. Summary of the Invention) The vehicle headlamp of the present invention includes a first irradiation section that irradiates a running beam and a second irradiation section that irradiates a low beam, and uses an incandescent lamp as a light source for these irradiation sections. This is a vehicle headlamp that uses an incandescent light bulb as a light source, and the reflective surface of the reflector, which forms part of the irradiation part that uses an incandescent light bulb as a light source, has a surface treatment that gives it a bluish tinge, or a surface that transmits blue light. By placing the filter in front of the incandescent light bulb, differences in the color of the emitted light due to differences in the color temperature of the light sources are made less noticeable.

(C. Background Art) In recent years, so-called metal halide lamps, which are low power consumption and high efficiency discharge lamps compared to filament type light sources such as halogen lamps, have been used to make vehicle headlights thinner and more energy efficient. It is attracting attention as a suitable light source.

(D. Problem to be Solved by the Invention) By the way, the color temperature of the metal halide lamp described above is about 4000 K (Kelvin), which is higher than the color temperature of a halogen lamp (about 3000 K). When it comes to vehicle headlights that use metal halide lamps and halogen lamps as light sources, the difference in the color of the emitted light is noticeable, leading to poor visibility in front of the vehicle or to the driver of an oncoming vehicle or pedestrian. There is a problem in that it gives an unpleasant impression.

(E. Means for Solving the Problems) Therefore, in order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the vehicle headlamp of the present invention has a first irradiation section that irradiates a driving beam, and a second irradiation section that irradiates a passing beam. An incandescent lamp and a discharge lamp are used as the light sources of these irradiation parts, and the reflecting surface of the reflector forming a part of the irradiation part which uses the incandescent lamp as the light source is The surface of the bulb is treated to give it a bluish tinge, or a blue light transmitting filter is placed in front of the incandescent bulb.

The vehicle headlight IA shown in the second embodiment C is different from the vehicle headlight 1 shown in the first embodiment in that a metal halide lamp is used as the light source for the running beam, and The only points are that a halogen bulb is used as the light source for the beam, and that an inner filter is placed between the halogen bulb and the front lens instead of the coloring treatment on the reflective surface of the reflector that is compatible with halogen bulbs. Therefore, only the different parts will be explained, and the explanation of the non-different parts will be omitted by assigning the same reference numerals as those used for the similar parts in the first embodiment.

(G. Effects of the Invention) As is clear from the above description, the first vehicle headlamp of the present invention has a first irradiation section that irradiates a driving beam and a first irradiation section that irradiates a passing beam. 2 irradiation section, and uses an incandescent bulb and a discharge lamp as the light source of these irradiation sections, the vehicle headlamp comprises a reflector that forms a part of the irradiation section whose light source is an incandescent bulb. The second type is characterized in that the surface is made bluish through surface treatment, and the difference in the color of the irradiated light based on the difference in color temperature between an incandescent lamp and a discharge lamp is reduced. The present invention is characterized in that a blue light transmitting filter is placed in front of the incandescent bulb so that the difference in the color of irradiated light due to the difference in color temperature between the incandescent bulb and the discharge lamp is reduced.

Therefore, according to the present invention, it is possible to bring the light color of the irradiated light from an incandescent lamp closer to the light color of the irradiated light from a discharge lamp, so that the difference in color temperature of the light sources becomes a noticeable difference in the light color of the irradiated light. There is no risk of deterioration of forward visibility or an unpleasant impression to oncoming drivers or pedestrians.
