The present invention relates to a pet food that is highly palatable to dogs and cats by blending processed tomato products with fish meat, animal meat, and their meat by-products. Pet foods whose main ingredients are mixtures of fish meat, animal meat, and their meat by-products such as internal organs, heads, and bones are currently widely used in the form of dry foods, semi-moist foods, canned foods, and snack foods. In general, pet foods are good for cats, such as fish and meat, and for dogs, meat is good for dogs, but in the opposite case, the solids are not always good enough, especially if they contain a lot of bone. . There are also large individual differences in palatability as dogs and cats develop eating habits depending on their childhood environment and dietary history. Although it is very difficult to develop pet foods that are palatable to all pets, industrially, pet foods are produced using meat by-products such as internal organs, bones, and heads left over from feeding fish and animals. Since these products are often manufactured by utilizing them effectively, there is a strong desire in the industry to improve the palatability of these products. The present inventors have been intensively researching the palatability of pet foods whose main ingredients are fish and animal meat by-products, and have found that by adding tomato processed products to these foods, the palatability for dogs and cats is significantly improved. They discovered this and completed the present invention. The pet food of the present invention is produced by blending tomato processed products with fish meat, animal meat, their meat by-products such as bird guts, pork guts, beef guts, heads, internal organs, etc., or a mixture thereof. Fish meat can be either freshwater fish or marine fish, and animal meat can be birds, and meat by-products of birds and animals such as pigs, cows, and sheep can be the remaining heads, tails, internal organs, etc., excluding edible meat.
The skin and bones of chicken bones, pork bones, beef bones, fish bones, etc. To make these into pet food,
Cut into cubes, thinly sliced, or minced pieces and use alone or in combination
It is used in combination of more than one type. In this specification, "tomato processed products" refer to raw, ripe tomatoes with the green part removed and cut into thin pieces, juice-like products, dried powdered products, further concentrated products, or edible products. Contains seasoned tomato paste, tomato puree, tomato ketchup, etc. The pettupood of the present invention uses processed tomato and fish meat.
1.0 to 2.5% by weight of tomato solids in the internal organs, heads, and bones of animal meat and their meat by-products
Manufactured by mixing. In addition to these, other feed ingredients such as grains, starches, and
Sugar, animal and vegetable proteins, oils and fats, vitamins, minerals, propylene glycol, antifungal agents, thickeners,
If it is produced by mixing colorant sugar, high-quality pet food can be obtained. The blended amount of tomato processed products is converted to tomato solids.
When the amount is less than 0.5% by weight or more than 5.0% by weight, the effect of the present invention of increasing the palatability of the substrate is not exhibited. The effect of increasing palatability is remarkable when the blending amount is 1.0 to 2.5% by weight. It is well known that processed tomato products such as tomato paste, tomato puree, tomato ketchup, etc. can improve the flavor of meat by adding them to food products, but dogs and cats do not originally find these products palatable. Processed tomato products have the effect of increasing palatability in pet food only within a limited range of amounts, and if the amount exceeds 5.0% by weight, it actually deteriorates the palatability of the substrate. Next, the effects of the present invention will be explained using test examples. Preparation of processed tomato products Wash fresh tomatoes with water, remove the green part, cut into pieces, and make juice using a juice mixer.85
After heating to a temperature above ℃, filtration was performed to obtain tomato juice from the filtrate. Tomato puree was further heated to obtain tomato puree with approximately 2.5 times the concentration. Further heating was performed to obtain tomato paste approximately 5.0 times larger.
The tomato paste was further dried to obtain tomato powder (8.1% moisture), which was used as a test sample. Comparison of test pet food and palatability Canned fish and sardines were used for dogs.
Sardines were mixed with tomato powder (moisture 8.1%) to give a concentration of 0.25 to 7.5% by weight in terms of tomato solids, which was used as a test feed, and sardines alone were used as a control feed. Five Shiba Inu dogs weighing approximately 8.0 kg were each fed 200 g each of the test food and the control food, and the amount of food consumed was measured 10 minutes later. For cats, pork liver and chicken bones were used. For pork liver, mince fresh pork liver and heat at 120℃.
Steamed for 15 minutes. The chicken bones were steamed from a broiler, minced, and steamed at 120℃ for 30 minutes. Tomato paste on pork liver and tomato ketchup on chicken bones each cost 0.25~ in terms of tomato solids.
The test feed was prepared at a concentration of 7.5% by weight, and only pork liver and chicken bones were used as the control feed. 2.0~3.0Kg
16 Japanese cats were fed 50g each of the test food and the control food, and their food intake was measured 2 hours later. The feeding test was conducted once a day for 3 days, and in order to eliminate individual differences in food intake, the total food intake of 5 dogs and 16 cats was used, and the average of the 3 tests was compared. The results of the salary test are shown in the table below.

[Table] By adding 0.5 to 5.0% by weight of processed tomato to canned sardines, pork liver, and chicken bones, the amount of food consumed by dogs and cats increases significantly. The palatability of pet food was markedly improved. Example 1 Broiler chicken bones were steamed and minced, and commercially available tomato ketchup (manufactured by Shirataka Sauce Co., Ltd.) was mixed with 0.5 in terms of tomato solids (containing about 17%).

Mix 29.4g, 58.8g, 147g and 294g
After filling the can with 1000g, deaerate, seal, and heat at 120℃.
Sterilization was performed for 30 minutes to obtain canned food for dogs and cats. The canned product had excellent appearance and flavor preference. Example 2 Commercially available tomato paste (manufactured by Nagano Tomato Co., Ltd.) was added to 1000 g of minced pork liver in terms of tomato solid content (approximately 25%).
20g, 40g, 100g and 200g of each (containing 0.5, 1.0, 2.5 and 5.0% by weight) were mixed to make 1000g, and 400g of this mixture and other semi-moist raw materials such as wheat flour, defatted soybean flour, beef tallow, and a vitamin-mineral mixture. , propylene glycol, salt,
A semi-moist food was obtained from 600 g of a mixture of sugar, antifungal agent, etc.
