Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an infrared transmission filter having black color and excellent light resistance and heat-resistance by compounding a transparent synthetic resin with specific blue, yellow and red dyes. CONSTITUTION:The objective filter is produced by compounding (A) a transparent synthetic resin such as PS, polyethylene terephthalate, polycarbonate or styrene/acrylonitrile copolymer with (B) 0.01-1wt.% (preferably 0.03-0.1wt.%) of a dye mixture produced by mixing (i) the dye of formula I as a blue component, (ii) the dye of formula II as a yellow component and (iii) the dye of formula III as a red component at weight ratios of (10-50):(1-10):(50-80).

These devices use a combination of an emitter that generates infrared rays and a receiver that receives the emitted infrared rays, but it is generally relatively easy to generate infrared rays of a specific wavelength from an emitter. On the other hand, many of the light-receiving elements used in light receivers have sensitivity in a wide range from near-infrared rays to visible light.

Therefore, in the above-described apparatus, in order to avoid malfunctions caused by visible light, it is necessary to use a filter that blocks visible light and allows only infrared rays to pass.

A filter for this purpose has an inversion characteristic, with a field near the wavelength roomμ, which hardly allows visible light with a shorter wavelength to pass through, and has a high transmittance for infrared light with a longer wavelength. It is hoped that it will be a thing.

Such filters are usually obtained by blending specific dyes into transparent synthetic resins, but the dyes used here are required to have infrared transmittance as well as heat resistance during resin molding, and their selection is There are ephemeral restrictions. In particular, there has been a recent demand for black filters, but in order to achieve black color using dyes, it is necessary to mix each of the three primary color dyes9, and it is difficult to select a satisfactory dye for each color. Therefore, conventionally, when trying to obtain a black infrared transmitting filter, carbon black was blended into a synthetic resin, but in this case, it was difficult to say that it was sufficient in terms of infrared transmittance.

(Means for Solving the Problems) In view of the above circumstances, the present inventors conducted various studies to obtain an infrared transmitting filter that is black by blending only dye without blending carbon black into the synthetic resin. By using blue, yellow, and red dyes, it is possible to obtain a black infrared transmitting filter that has low visible light transmission, high infrared transmission, and good light resistance and heat resistance. I found it.

In the present invention, a blue dye, a yellow dye, and a red dye each having the structural formula of advance are blended into the above-mentioned synthetic resin, and the blending amount is usually 0.01% by weight, preferably 0.01% by weight based on the synthetic resin. .03-0,/wt%. If the amount is too small, visible light blocking properties will be insufficient, and if it is too large, infrared transmittance will be reduced.
