で、自動的にその目的を達成することはできなか
つた。又従来大型ごみ焼却炉の投入は貯芥室に外
からのごみを搬送車などで運搬貯芥し、貯芥室と
炉の上部にこれを連結するレールを渡し、ごみ専
用の起重機を装備して炉内の焼却状況に合せて投
入するもの或いはごみ搬送車で焼却室に搬入した
ごみを特殊な装置で挿入する等が多く行われてい
たが、何れも人為的操作であつた。

炉内にごみを投入するピストンを設けたことであ
