Abstract

PURPOSE:To supply lubricating oil to a rib so as to prevent any generation of scarfing and cylinder noise by providing a polishing portion having a depth of several tens microns in the vicinity of the rib disposed along the axial direction of a cylinder, and forming a pressure-feed hole for the lubricating oil in the lower portion and inside of the polishing portion. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder 1 of a two-stroke engine comprises an exhaust port 2 and a scavenging port 3. In order to enlarge a lateral width, the exhaust port 2 is provided in the center thereof with a rib 4 for dividing the exhaust port 2 into right and left parts. Because of large thermal expansion due to exposure to exhaust heat, a polishing portion 5 is disposed in the vicinity of the rib 4, which is polished to a depth of several tens microns. A pressure-feed hole 6 for feeding lubricating oil little by little under pressure by means of an oil pump is opened to a wall surface of the cylinder 1 in the lower portion of the rib 4. The lower end of the polishing portion 5 extends down to a position to be connected to the pressure-feed hole 6. Accordingly, the lubricating oil is fed from the pressure-feed hole 6 to lubricate the polishing portion 5 of the rib 4. Therefore, any generation of scarfing can be prevented despite a small polishing margin of the polishing portion 5 of the rib 4, and further, any generation of noise of the cylinder can be prevented.

Ni-cycle engines require larger exhaust ports in order to improve output. If the width of the exhaust port is widened, the piston and piston ring will easily penetrate into it, so a rib is provided in the center of the exhaust port to divide it into left and right sides. The ribs expand when exposed to exhaust heat, which causes piston scuffing. For this reason, the area around the ribs is ground to a depth of several tens of microns to widen the gap with the piston and prevent scuffing. In order to further increase the output, the exhaust port becomes larger, the thermal influence on the ribs increases, and the polishing depth needs to be increased.

Increasing the polishing allowance near the ribs is good for preventing scuffing, but it also causes the piston to oscillate.
There is an inconvenience that the cylinder makes a banging sound.

In view of these points, this invention limits the polishing allowance of the polishing part near the rib at the center of the exhaust port to several tens of microns, supplies lubricating oil to the rib, and prevents scuffing as well as the generation of cylinder noise. The purpose is to obtain a lubrication system for two-cycle engines.

In order to achieve the above object, the lubrication device for a two-cycle engine of the present invention is provided with a rib in the center of the exhaust port of the cylinder, and a polishing part that polishes the vicinity of the rib to a depth of several tens of microns. A lubricating oil pumping hole is opened in the cylinder wall below the rib, and the lower end of the abrasive part is connected to the pumping hole, or the abrasive part and the pumping hole are connected by a groove. A rib is provided at the center of the exhaust port of the cylinder, and an oil pole is provided at a position facing the rib between the grooves of the top ring and the second ring of the piston.

Further, the lubricating oil accumulated in the oil hole provided in the piston is supplied to the rib because the oil hole slides along the rib as the piston reciprocates. As a result, scuffing can be prevented and cylinder noise can also be prevented even if the polishing allowance of the polishing portion near the ribs is limited to several tens of microns.

A cylinder 1 of a two-cycle engine is provided with an exhaust port 2 and a scavenging port 3. The exhaust port 2 has a shape in which a rib 4 is provided in the center and the rib 4 divides the exhaust port 2 into left and right sides in order to widen the left and right width. Since the ribs 4 undergo large thermal expansion when exposed to exhaust heat, a polishing section 5 is provided near the ribs 4 and polished to a depth of several tens of microns. Then, a pressure feeding hole 6 is opened in the wall surface of the cylinder 1 below the rib 4, through which lubricating oil is pumped little by little by an oil pump.

In this case, a polished part 5 is provided near the central rib 4 of the exhaust port 2, and the lower end of the polished part 5 is connected to the lubricating oil pumping hole 6.
The pumping hole 6 and the polishing part 5 are connected by the groove 7. The lubricating oil flowing out from the pressure feed hole 6 is transferred to the exhaust port 2.
Since it flows to the polishing part 5 near the rib 4 and lubricates it, even if the polishing amount of the polishing part 5 is reduced, scuffing can be prevented and cylinder noise can be prevented from occurring.

FIG. 4 shows another embodiment of the present invention in which measures are taken on the piston side. In this case, an oil hole 10 is provided in a portion of the exhaust port 2 facing the rib 4 between the top ring of the piston 8 and the groove 9 into which the second ring is inserted. The lubricating oil scraped off by the ring due to the reciprocating motion of the piston 8 accumulates in the oil hole 10 and can lubricate the rib 4.

As explained above, since the present invention is configured as described above, lubricating oil can be sent to the polished portion of the rib from the lubricating oil pumping hole provided under the rib of the exhaust port on the cylinder wall to lubricate. Further, the lubricating oil scraped off by the ring into the oil hole provided between the grooves of the piston ring can be sent to the polished portion of the rib. As a result, even if the polishing amount of the polished portion of the rib is small, scuffing can be prevented from occurring, and cylinder noise can also be prevented from occurring. As a result, the polishing time for the polishing portion near the ribs can be reduced. By using the lubricating oil feeding hole in the cylinder and the oil hole in the piston in combination, the -layer effect can be enhanced.
