Abstract

PURPOSE:To make easy construction of a retaining wall available for vegetable planting feasible by a method wherein box-shaped blocks having opened upper side are laid in a row with soil thrown therein and back-filling is made at their rear side and groups of the box-shaped blocks are further laid thereon in a required number of stages. CONSTITUTION:Box-shaped blocks 1... having opened upper side are laid in a row and vegetation soil 3 and 3 is thrown therein. The space at the rear side of a group of these box-shaped blocks is filled with back-filling soil 4 and compaction is made thereon. The compacted back-filling is made in the height reoughly the same as the upper edge of the group of box-shaped blocks. Over the group of the box-shaped blocks on the first stage, the group of the box-shaped blocks for the second stage is laid in a row with its front face receded. By repeating the same process, the group of the box-shaped blocks are stacked up until necessary number of stages is attained. Appropriate vegetation is then applied to the inside of the box-shaped blocks 1 on each of the stages.
