In the indoor unit of the conventional air conditioner configured in this way, for example, when cooling a room, high-temperature indoor air sucked in by the blowing action of the centrifugal fan device 3 passes through the heat exchanger 2. As it passes through, it exchanges heat with the low-temperature refrigerant sent from the outdoor unit to the heat exchanger 2 and becomes low-temperature air.
The process of being blown into the room from the unit air outlets 4 at two locations, upper and lower, and returning is performed continuously.

Conventional indoor units of air conditioners are configured as described above, so if it is possible to have both upper and lower air outlets, by blocking one of the air outlets, for example, during heating, the lower air outlet can be used to heat a wide area more quickly. If you use only the top blower to prevent the cold air from hitting your body directly during cooling, the total amount of air blown will be drastically reduced to about 70%, which will reduce the capacity and increase the noise. There were problems such as: Originally, air conditioner indoor units were designed to allow the airflow to be freely selected from double-sided, top-blowing, bottom-blowing, and all air volume distribution ratio modes in between, depending on the indoor shape, atmospheric conditions, and use. This makes it possible to perform detailed control in response to changes in conditions, and to freely select the blowout mode according to individual user preferences, greatly improving the comfort of air conditioning. However, in the case of an indoor unit such as the above-mentioned conventional example, in which the performance deteriorates considerably depending on the blowout mode, the advantages cannot be fully utilized, and only the disadvantages become conspicuous.

This idea was made to solve the above problems, and it is an air conditioner that allows you to freely select the wind blowing mode without changing the overall air blowing volume, that is, without changing the capacity or noise. The purpose is to obtain an indoor unit for the machine.

According to the configuration of the duct housing, the propeller fan impeller connected to the drive motor, and the disc-shaped air duct member in the indoor unit of the air conditioner of this invention, even a propeller fan impeller with a considerably small outer diameter has the lowest noise level. It becomes possible to satisfy the air volume and pressure specifications of the indoor unit at the operating point. As a result, it becomes possible to significantly increase the space inside the unit housing, which can also be used as an air path, and the length of the air path. Furthermore, by adding the effect of creating a space, or free air path, on the back side, even if one unit air outlet is blocked, a return air path is naturally formed, which increases the overall air volume. can be made almost the same as in the case of both balloons.

An embodiment of this invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. In Fig. 1, 1 is the unit casing, 2 is the heat exchanger, 4 is the unit air outlet at two locations, upper and lower, and 5 is the unit housing.
is a wind direction control board, which is the same as the conventional example described above. However, the fan device has been changed from the conventional centrifugal fan device 3 to a special propeller fan device 6. Special propeller fan device 6
A propeller fan impeller 6a connected to a drive motor 6c, a duct casing 6b having both open ends shaped like bell mouths, and a disc-shaped duct casing 6b provided opposite to the blowing side of the propeller fan impeller 6a. It is constituted by an air passage member 6d. Further, a space formed by the back side of the disc-shaped air path member 6d and the back wall of the unit housing 1 forms a free air path 7. Although not shown in the figure, the disc-shaped air passage member 6d is fixed to either the unit housing 1, the duct casing 6b, or the drive motor 6c by supporting parts.

Although the basic functions of each part of the indoor unit configured as described above are the same as those of the conventional example described above, the structure of the fan device 6 and the air passage system around it is significantly different. First of all, by changing the fan used from a centrifugal fan with high pressure and low airflow characteristics to a propeller fan with low pressure and large airflow characteristics, it is designed to operate at the lowest noise and most efficient operating point. The fan can use an impeller with a considerably smaller outer diameter, and as a result, the space inside the unit housing 1 that can be used as an air path and the length of the air path can be significantly increased. In addition, the propeller fan device composed of the propeller fan impeller 6a connected to the drive motor 6c, the duct casing 6b, and the disc-shaped air passage member 6d in the above embodiment also eliminates the blowout flow that was wasted in the past. Focusing on velocity energy, the flow passing through the propeller fan impeller 6a is bent in the radial direction without any force, and at the same time, by forming a centrifugal diffuser air path on the outlet side, the velocity energy is converted into static pressure to improve performance. Since it is designed to improve the flow, it is the most suitable flow for indoor unit type, and the performance is also very good.

In addition, the effect of the free air passage 7 provided on the back side is added, and no matter which air blowing mode is selected from the upper and lower unit air outlets 4, a natural return air passage that is most suitable for that mode is naturally formed. Therefore, the overall volume of air blown can be made to remain almost unchanged regardless of the blowing mode. Note that although the air volume adjustment in this embodiment is performed using the air direction control plate 5, it is of course possible to use other methods as well. In addition, the propeller fan impeller 6
It is known that it is not necessary to cover the entire impeller with the duct casing 6b, but rather that the overall aerodynamic and noise characteristics will be better if the blades on the suction side are left wide open as shown in Figure 1. It is being Therefore, the distance from the heat exchanger 2 and the shape of the bell mouth on the suction port side of the duct casing 6b can be made larger than in the case of a conventional centrifugal fan, so that even if the outer diameter of the impeller is small, it still passes through the heat exchanger 2. The uneven flow of the flow can be made smaller than in the conventional example, and the resulting pressure loss can also be reduced. Furthermore, since a cheaper propeller fan is used, manufacturing costs can also be reduced.

In addition, in the above embodiment, two propeller fan devices are arranged side by side, assuming a wall-mounted indoor unit, which is currently being produced in large numbers.
Similar effects can be expected even when there is only one unit or when three or more units are lined up.

In addition, for reference, it can also be used when the indoor unit is made vertically long and has both left and right air outlets.Furthermore, for manufacturing reasons, the disc-shaped air passage member 6d may be made into another shape such as a square, or a plurality of propeller fan devices 6 may be used. Even when the units are lined up and connected and integrated, sufficient effects can be expected when compared with conventional examples.

As described above, according to this invention, the air outlet of the indoor unit of the air conditioner is provided at two locations, upper and lower, and the internal fan device is connected to the propeller fan impeller connected to the drive motor and the bell mouth at both opening ends. The duct casing is composed of a shaped duct casing and a disc-shaped air duct member provided opposite to the outlet side, and further has a predetermined distance between the disc-shaped duct casing and the back wall of the unit housing. By forming an air path, it is possible to freely select the blowout mode from the upper and lower unit outlets without changing the overall airflow volume, which greatly improves the comfort of air conditioning. Since this method utilizes the following methods, it is possible to obtain an indoor unit for an air conditioner that can reduce manufacturing costs.
