2. Description of the Related Art An example of a conventional air conditioner of this type is shown in FIG. As shown in FIG. 2, a heat exchanger 7, a drain pan 10,
A motor 5, a blower 6, a baffle plate 12 and the like are built in, and a ceiling panel 8 facing a chamber 9 is attached to a lower portion of the case body 2. A suction port 3 is formed at the center of the ceiling panel 8, and an air outlet 4 is formed adjacent to the suction port 3. During operation of the air conditioner, refrigerant from an outdoor unit (not shown) circulates through the heat exchanger 7, and the blower 6 is driven by the motor 5. Then, the room air in the room 9 is guided from the suction port 3 through the suction grill 11 and the filter 13, guided by the baffle plate 12, sucked into the blower 6 and urged. And
Cooled or heated in the process of flowing through the heat exchanger 7, it becomes conditioned air and is blown out of the outlet 4 into the chamber 9.

In the above-mentioned conventional air conditioner, room air is sucked from a suction port 3 formed at the center of a ceiling panel 8 and conditioned from an air outlet 4 adjacent to the suction port 3. Since the air is blown out, there is a problem that a so-called short circuit phenomenon occurs in which a part of the conditioned air blown out from the blowout port 4 is involved in the flow of the air sucked into the suction port 3.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been made to solve the above-mentioned problems by paying attention to the fact that the space above the ceiling is closed in a building or the like, and has the gist of the invention. However, in a ceiling-embedded air conditioner in which a case body containing a heat exchanger, a blower, and the like is embedded in the ceiling, and a ceiling panel facing the room is attached to a lower portion of the case body, A suction port for sucking room air into the space above the ceiling is provided at a position distant from the case main body, and a suction port is provided on a side wall of the case main body. The suction port is sucked into the case main body and flows through the heat exchanger. The ceiling-mounted air conditioner is characterized in that an outlet for blowing excess air into a room is provided in the ceiling panel.

According to the present invention, since the above structure is provided, the room air is sucked into the space above the ceiling from a suction port provided at a position distant from the case body, and from the suction port provided on the side wall of the case body. The air enters the case main body, is urged by a blower incorporated therein, flows through the heat exchanger, becomes conditioned air, and is blown into the room from an air outlet provided in the ceiling panel.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS One embodiment of the present invention is shown in FIG. The ceiling 1 is provided with a suction port 21 for sucking room air in the room 9 into the space 20 above the ceiling at a position away from the case body 2. A suction port 22 is provided on a side wall of the case body 2. The suction port 22 is provided with a filter 23, and the heat exchanger 7 is provided behind the suction port 22 so as to face the filter. A blower 6 is installed in a space surrounded by the air guide plate 12 and the ceiling panel 8. The ceiling panel 8 attached to the lower part of the case main body 2 is provided with only the outlet 4. The other configuration is the same as that of the conventional one shown in FIG. 2, and corresponding members are denoted by the same reference numerals.

Since the indoor air inlet 21 and the outlet 4 are separated from each other, a part of the conditioned air blown into the room 9 from the outlet 4 is entrained in the flow of the indoor air sucked into the inlet 21. The so-called short circuit phenomenon does not occur. Since the suction port 22 is provided on the side wall of the case main body 2, the suction space or the suction flow path in the case main body 2 is reduced, so that the size of the case main body 2 can be reduced. Furthermore, since the refraction of the air flow in the case body 2 is reduced, the flow resistance of the intake air is also reduced. There is also a large ceiling space
Since 20 is used as a flow path for the intake air, an air duct is not required, so that equipment and construction costs are reduced and flow resistance is reduced. Furthermore, if a plurality of suction ports 21 are installed at intervals, the air stagnation in the chamber 9 will be reduced, and the distribution of room temperature can be made uniform. In addition, the suction port 22 can be provided over the entire circumference of the case body 2, and in this case, the heat exchanger 7 can also be annular, so that the heat exchange area can be increased. If a centripetal fan is used instead of the illustrated centrifugal blower 6, the centrifugal fan can be installed in a space surrounded by the heat exchanger 7 and the baffle plate 12 can be omitted, so that the size of the case body 2 can be further reduced.

According to the present invention, the suction port is provided at a position away from the case body on the ceiling, the suction port is provided on the side wall of the case body, and the outlet is provided on the ceiling panel. It is possible to prevent a so-called short circuit in which a part of the blown air is entrained in the flow of the indoor air sucked into the suction port, reduce the size and weight of the case body, and reduce the flow loss of the suction air.
