2. Description of the Related Art An example of a conventional air conditioner of this type is shown in FIG. As shown in FIG. 2, a heat exchanger 7 and a drain pan 10 are installed inside the case body 2 buried in the ceiling 1.
, a motor 5, a blower 6, a baffle plate 12, etc. are built in, and a ceiling panel 8 facing the room 9 is attached to the lower part of the case body 2. A suction port 3 is formed in the center of the ceiling panel 8, and an air outlet 4 is formed adjacent to the suction port 3. When the air conditioner is in operation, refrigerant from an outdoor unit (not shown) circulates through the heat exchanger 7, and the motor 5 drives the blower 6. Then, room air in the room 9 passes through the suction grille 11 and the filter 13 from the suction port 3, is guided by the baffle plate 12, is sucked into the blower 6, and is energized. In the process of flowing through the heat exchanger 7, the air is cooled or heated to become conditioned air, which is blown out from the outlet 4 into the chamber 9.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] In the above-mentioned conventional air conditioner, indoor air is sucked in through the suction port 3 formed in the center of the ceiling panel 8, and the air is regulated through the air outlet 4 adjacent to the suction port 3. Since the air is blown out, there is a problem that a so-called short circuit phenomenon occurs in which a part of the conditioned air blown out from the air outlet 4 is caught in the flow of air sucked into the air inlet 3.

[Means for Solving the Problems] The present invention was invented in order to solve the above problems, paying attention to the fact that in buildings, etc., the space behind the ceiling is sealed, and the gist thereof is as follows. However, in a ceiling-embedded air conditioner, which has a case body containing a heat exchanger, a blower, etc. buried in the ceiling, and a ceiling panel facing indoors attached to the bottom of the case body, the above-mentioned ceiling A suction port for sucking indoor air into the attic space is provided at a position away from the case body, and a suction port is provided on the side wall of the case body, and the air is sucked into the case body from this suction port and flows through the heat exchanger. The ceiling panel is provided with an outlet for blowing out the filtered air into the room.

[Operation] Since the present invention has the above-mentioned configuration, indoor air is sucked into the attic space through the suction port provided at a distance from the case body, and from the suction port provided on the side wall of the case body. The air enters the case body, is energized by a blower built into the case, flows through a heat exchanger, becomes conditioned air, and is blown into the room from an air outlet provided in the ceiling panel.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS One embodiment of the invention is shown in FIG. A suction port 21 is provided in the ceiling 1 at a position remote from the case body 2 for sucking indoor air in the room 9 into the attic space 20. A suction port 22 is provided on the side wall of the case body 2. A filter 23 is disposed at this suction port 22, and a heat exchanger 7 is installed behind this suction port 22 so as to face it. A blower 6 is installed in a space surrounded by the air guide plate 12 and the ceiling panel 8. A ceiling panel 8 attached to the lower part of the case body 2 is provided with only an air outlet 4. The rest of the structure is similar to the conventional one shown in FIG. 2, and corresponding members are given the same reference numerals.

Since the indoor air inlet 21 and the outlet 4 are separated, a part of the conditioned air blown into the room 9 from the outlet 4 is caught up in the flow of indoor air sucked into the inlet 21. A so-called short circuit phenomenon does not occur. Since the suction port 22 is installed on the side wall of the case body 2, the suction space or suction flow path within the case body 2 is reduced, and therefore the case body 2 can be made smaller. Furthermore, since the air flow within the case body 2 is less bent, the flow path resistance of the intake air is also reduced. In addition, since the large attic space 20 is used as a flow path for intake air,
Air ducts are not required, thus reducing equipment and construction costs as well as flow path resistance. Furthermore, if a plurality of suction ports 21 are installed at intervals, air stagnation within the chamber 9 can be reduced and the room temperature distribution can be made uniform. Also,
The suction port 22 can be provided all around the case body 2, and in this case, the heat exchanger 7 can also be annular, so that its heat exchange area can be increased. Further, if a centripetal fan is used instead of the centrifugal blower 6 shown in the figure, it can be installed in a space surrounded by the heat exchanger 7, and the baffle plate 12 can be omitted, so that the case body 2 can be made more compact.

Effects of the Invention In the present invention, the air inlet is provided in the ceiling at a position remote from the case body, the air inlet is provided in the side wall of the case body, and the air outlet is provided in the ceiling panel. It is possible to prevent a so-called short cut in which a part of the air blown out is caught in the flow of indoor air sucked into the intake port, and the case body can be made smaller and lighter, and the flow loss of intake air can be reduced.
