体開口部のフランジに嵌合する断面略U字形であ
つて、その内部に芯金2が埋設されたウエルト部
3と、該ウエルト部3の内側面に設けられた保持
リツプ4と、外側面にスポンジゴム等で形成され
た柔軟なシールリツプ5、及び水切りリツプ6と
からなり、直状部1a,1aは予め押出連続加硫
成形法により成形されている。そしてコーナー部
1bを形成し、かつその両端部に直状部1a,1
aを接合させるに際しては、第2図に示したよう
な、8a,8b,8c,8d,8eの分割型から
なり、ウエザーストリツプ1の直状部1aの断面
形状と同断面であり、コーナー部1bと同形状の
注入部7を有する金型8を用い、該金型8の所定
位置に、予め成形されている直状部1a,1aを
対置し、注入部7内に未加硫ゴム、若しくはエチ
レンビニルアセテート(E、V、A)等のホツト
メルト系樹脂等の生地を注入し、コーナー部1b
を成形するとともに、該コーナー部1bの両端部
に直状部1a,1bを接合せしめるのである。こ
の注入成形法に用いられる前記金型8にはさら
に、注入部7のシールリツプ成形部7a、水切り
リツプ成形部7bの先端部に、内径0.5〜1.0mmの
入路10を有する生地逃げ注入部9a,9bが設
けられており、一方注入する生地は若干多目にし
注入部7への充填の完全を図り、充填後の過剰生
地を前記生地逃げ注入部9a,9bに逃して、生
地の注入量の不均一を吸収するのである。したが
つて注入量が多い時には生地逃げ注入部9a,9
bは充填され、少目の場合には少量の生地のみが
流入することとなり、その成形形状は不均一とな
るが、この生地逃げ注入部9a,9bによつて成
形された部分は、後述の工程によつて切除される
ものであるから問題はない。

面5b,6bは、シール表面5a,6aの如くシ
ール機能を果す部分ではないことから、そのシー
ル特性に影響を与えるものではない。さらにシー
ル裏面5b,6bは、ウエザーストリツプ1の取
り付け状態からすると、外方向からの視角に入る
位置ではないことから、外観上の不都合もない。

あるので特に前記不一致が問題となることもな
い。なお本発明の説明においては、自動車用のウ
エザーストリツプを例示したが、これに限るもの
ではなく、押出成形品等の端部もしくは接合部を
注入成形する場合においては、全て適用可能であ
る。
