In this bicycle storage rack, when not in use, the mounting member rests against the support, that is, in an upright position, but when storing the bicycle, the rack member is first tilted to a certain angle. Then, the bicycle is placed on the rack member and locked by the locking means, and then the rack member to which the bicycle is locked is returned to the upright state as when not in use. As a result, the bicycle is also stored in an upright position.

During this time, the rack member moves and changes from an upright state to an inclined state to an upright state, but this movement and change is caused by the vertically slidable support for the tip of the rack member by the guide part of the column and the pin connection. In combination with the rotary support for the middle portion of the rack member by the rotary support member, a smooth continuous curved trajectory is produced. Therefore, the force required there is relatively small.

As shown in detail in FIGS. 3 and 4, the locking means 4 fixes a pair of base members 13 and 13 on both sides of the distal end portion 3t of the rack member 3.
A locking plate 14 is attached to each of 3.13 so as to be rotatable as shown by the arrow Y, and the locking plate 14 is urged to rotate in the direction of the arrow Z by a spring 15. The locking plate 14 is rotated in a direction opposite to arrow Z, that is, in a direction opposite to the direction in which the spring 15 is biased, by a release bar 16 whose base end is connected to a pin. The bicycle B is locked and fixed by suppressing and locking the rim M of the wheel by the plate 14.

To store the bicycle B, first, hold the grip 11 and pull out the rack member 3 as far as it will go, that is, until the support rollers I2 hit the lower ends of the guide elongated holes 8, and bring it into a preparatory tilted state. At this time, the release bar 16 acts to press and rotate the locking plate 14 in the direction of the arrow Z, depending on the opening degree of the angle β formed by the rack member 3 and the rotation support member 5. As a result, the locking means 4 is in the "open" state. Similarly, due to the angle β, the spring 17 is
The connecting portion 18, that is, the point of action P between the rack member 3 and the rotational support member 5 is shifted toward the tip side 3t with respect to the connecting portion 19, that is, the rotational fulcrum Q, between the rack member 3 and the rotation support member 5, and the angle β is reduced, that is, the preparatory tilted state. The rack member 3 and the rotation support member 5 are biased in the direction of maintaining the rotation support member 5. In this state, the bicycle is pushed up and placed on the rack member 3 [FIG. 5(B)].

Next, the rack member 3 is slightly rotated in the direction of arrow W. Then, due to the rotation of the rack member 3, the above-mentioned angle β increases, and the bicycle B is locked and fixed by the locking means 4. In other words, the pressing and rotating force of the release bar 16 against the locking plate 14 is eliminated, and as a result, the spring 15
The bicycle B is locked and fixed to the rack member 3 by rotating the locking plate 14 by the biasing force and pressing its tip against the rim M of the wheel as shown by the imaginary line in FIG. Ru.

Then, when the rack member 3 is further rotated, the above-mentioned point of action P is shifted to the proximal side 3b with respect to the rotation fulcrum Q, and the spring 17 is now moved in the direction that increases the angle β, that is, the rotation of the rack member 3. A biasing force is applied in a direction that helps the movement, and the burden on the operator is reduced accordingly. In this state, the rack member 3 is further rotated to stand upright.

As a result, bicycle B is stored in an upright position. In this state, although the intersecting relationship between the rack member 3 and the rotation support member 5 is reversed, the spring 17 still exerts a biasing force in the direction of pressing the rack member 3 toward the support column 2. , this spring 17 maintains the upright state of the rack member 3. Also, bicycle B
The rack member 3 is rotated and urged toward the support column 2 by its own weight, that is, the support roller 12 serves as a suspension fulcrum, so to speak.
This state is also maintained due to the fact that the center of gravity of bicycle B is shifted to the side opposite to the column 2 with respect to the vertical line, which generates a moment that rotates and biases the rack member 3 toward the column 2. .

To take out the bicycle B, pull out the rack member 3 on which the bicycle B is locked and fixed in the same way as in the storage preparation described above, and with the locking means 4 in the "open" position as described above, remove the rack member 3. Remove the bicycle from 3.

It should be noted that, as can be seen from the above description, the spring 17 has several roles, but these roles are not necessarily essential. Therefore, spring 17
is not necessarily required, and can be replaced by something else. Furthermore, the locking means 4 can also be replaced with another structure within the scope of its function of locking and fixing the bicycle B. Furthermore, the guide elongated hole 8 may not be provided in something like the guide bracket 7, but may be provided directly in the support column 2, and in this case, the tip side portion 3t of the rack member 3 is not necessarily bent with respect to the intermediate portion 3s. There's no need.
