Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily develop letters, etc., with grown plants by printing a letter on a porous substrate sheet with a germination inhibiting agent for a plant, attaching seeds susceptible to the inhibiting agent and seeds insusceptible to the agent to the sheet and embedding the obtained sheet in a surface soil layer. CONSTITUTION:An ink composition 2 containing an agent to inhibit the germination of a specific plant is applied in arbitrary form to the surface of a porous substrate sheet 1 such as nonwoven cloth using a printing means. Seeds 3 of a plant susceptible to the above agent and seeds 4 insusceptible to the germination inhibiting agent are uniformly scattered and attached to the sheet. The sheet is embedded in the surface layer of soil. Plants are grown in a specific pattern since the seeds of a plant insusceptible to the germination inhibiting agent are germinated and grown on the whole surface while the seeds susceptible to the inhibiting agent are germinated and grown exclusively at a part free from the germination inhibiting ink.

<Means for Solving the Problems> In order to solve the above problems, in the present invention, a drug that inhibits the germination of a specific plant is applied to a porous base sheet such as a nonwoven fabric using a printing procedure. burying in the soil surface layer a sheet-like material on which seeds of plants whose germination is inhibited by the chemical and seeds of plants whose germination is not inhibited are uniformly spread together with a fixing agent; This has been achieved by disclosing a greening method characterized by the following and a sheet-like material used in this method.

The present invention will be explained in more detail below based on the drawings. FIG. 1 shows a cross-sectional view of the sheet-like material used in the present invention. An ink composition (2) containing a drug that inhibits the germination of plants, which will be described later, is applied to the surface of a porous base sheet (1) such as a nonwoven fabric using a printing means in an arbitrary shape, and then the drug is applied on top of the ink composition (2) containing a drug that inhibits germination of plants. Specifically, a slurry of two types of seeds mixed with fiber, adhesive, etc. is sprayed. Chemical fertilizers, compost, etc. may be mixed into this. Although the combination of the two types of plants is arbitrary, it is preferable that the plant height of the plant whose germination is inhibited is higher than that of the plant whose germination is not inhibited.

When the sheet obtained above is buried in the surface layer of the soil, plants whose germination is not inhibited by the chemical will germinate and grow over the entire surface, but plants whose germination is inhibited by the chemical will grow in the area where the chemical ink is not present. Only the attached seeds germinate and grow, forming a pattern as shown in Figure 2.

The plant seed slurry of Table 3 was spread on top of this and dried to obtain a sheet-like material. This sheet-like material was placed on the leveled soil surface, covered with soil from above, and watered. Approximately two months later, a letter-shaped greening was achieved with short-tall Coralai grass that grew all over the area and Japanese crabgrass that grew in a letter-shaped pattern.
