Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve physical effect to wiping and to supply silicone oil without flawing the surface coating layer of a fixing roll by making meshes on the side of a cross web on a cleaning surface large and using 4-6 nylon fiber. CONSTITUTION:A parallel web (1) formed by mixing and opening 65wt.% 4-6 nylon fiber and 35wt.% 6-6 nylon fiber and the cross web (2) formed by mixing and opening 80wt.% 4-6 nylon fiber and 20wt.% 6-6 nylon fiber are laminated so that the ratio of the parallel web to the cross web is 4:6, thereby obtaining a crisscross web (3). This cross web 3 is heated and pressed by a couple of equalizing rolls which are heated to obtain a thermocompression bonded nonwoven fabric fiber sheet. Then this fiber sheet is impregnated with silicone oil to form a cleaning sheet.

Detailed Description of the Invention [Industrial Field of Application] The present invention provides a heat fixing roll of an RPC (dry type copying machine) and an LBP (laser beam printer) to form a toner and paper release property on the surface of the roll. The present invention relates to a cleaning sheet that is coated with silicone oil that increases the cleaning properties and is used to clean the surface of the roll without damaging it.

Generally, PPC, L, which uses a heated fixing roll as a fixing device,
In BP, there are problems such as smearing of copied images due to toner adhering to the surface of the heat fixing roll, and wrapping of paper around the roll caused by resin components of the toner fused to the roll surface. As a method to solve these problems, there is a method to remove toner and other stains adhering to the surface of the heat fixing roll by supplying silicone oil that improves the releasability of toner and paper to the surface of the heat fixing roll and then cleaning the roll. It is taken.

However, when using the method (a) above, not only is it not possible to remove toner etc. sufficiently, but the next toner adheres on top of the residual toner, making it more difficult to peel off the paper, and furthermore, it may cause the paper to wrap around the roll. This increases the number of stains on the copied image. Furthermore, even when the method (b) is used, the cleaning effect is not sufficient, and the demerit of increasing the size and cost of the apparatus due to the separation of oil application and cleaning functions is significant.

Due to the small total area of the cleaning portion of a piece of fabric, etc., the maintenance cycle is shortened and running costs are increased. In order to eliminate the above drawbacks, JP-A-58-199371
As shown in the publication, a winding type non-woven cleaning roll pre-impregnated with silicone oil and using aromatic polyamide fibers and polyethylene terephthalate fibers to provide heat resistance has been proposed.
In order to provide strength in the winding direction, the cleaning roll is composed of only parallel webs whose fiber web orientation is the same as the rotational direction of the heat-fixing roll, and is formed by heat-pressure bonding, so that the cleaning roll is strong in the winding direction. The coefficient of friction of the cleaning roll is reduced, and the physical action of cleaning is reduced, resulting in insufficient effectiveness.

In addition, aromatic polyamide fibers are highly rigid and hard, so
This has the disadvantage that the surface of the fixing roll is worn out, and the hard surface layer of 47-ethylene chloride or the like coated on the roll surface is also worn out during boat fishing, shortening the life of the roll. Furthermore, due to the difference in properties between aromatic polyamide fibers and polyethylene terephthalate fibers, it is difficult to obtain the desired adhesive strength after heat-compression bonding, that is, the tensile strength of the fiber sheet, and polyethylene terephthalate fibers have inferior heat resistance than aromatic polyamide fibers. had to be increased in content, which had the disadvantage of lowering heat resistance.

The present invention is composed of a laminated web of a unidirectional parallel web and a bidirectional cross web (hereinafter referred to as a Criss Floss web), and the bidirectional cross web is in sliding contact with the web on at least one side of the laminated web, that is, the fixing roll. The web side is a mixed fiber web of 4-6 nylon and thermoplastic binder fibers such as polyamide and polyethylene terephthalate.
The other side web is a heat-pressed fiber sheet made of a mixed fiber web of heat-resistant fibers such as 4-6 nylon fibers, aromatic polyamide fibers, carbon fibers, aromatic polyester fibers, and the above-mentioned thermoplastic binder fibers to form a cleaning sheet. This solves the problem by providing a cleaning sheet that is sufficiently impregnated with silicone oil, has increased tensile strength, and durability, and has excellent cleaning effects without damaging the fixing roll. That is, the present invention involves winding a predetermined amount of a cleaning sheet, which is obtained by impregnating and adhering 50 to 150% by weight of silicone oil with respect to the weight of the nonwoven fiber sheet, onto a fiber sheet formed by heat-pressing the above-mentioned cross web, around a core having a diameter of 10 mm. By bringing the cross web side of the thoroughly formed cleaning roll into contact with the heat fixing roll and gradually winding it up at a constant cycle,
Apply silicone oil to improve the releasability of toner paper and perform cleaning at the same time.

In addition, by using 4-6 nylon especially on the cross-web side, and by making the binder fiber content on the cross-web side smaller than that on the parallel web side, the cross-web side becomes porous and soft, making it easier to absorb oil. The impregnation retention performance is improved, and the cleaning action is performed without damaging the 47-fluoroethylene coating layer on the surface of the fixing roll.
The life of the fuser roll can be extended. In addition, by using the same type of thermoplastic fiber as the binder and heat-resistant fiber such as 4-6 nylon, it is possible to increase the adhesive force after heat-pressing, that is, the tensile strength of the fiber sheet, which in turn increases durability. It has become possible to obtain leaning rolls with improved performance, low running costs due to long-life maintenance, and miniaturization of the equipment.

Oil impregnability indicates the ratio of the amount of oil adhered to the nonwoven fabric sheet when the nonwoven fabric sheet is impregnated with a predetermined oil until it can be impregnated and adhered. The cleaning effect and image stains were determined after copying 30 sheets without a cleaning device, and after copying 10 sheets with the cleaning roll obtained in Examples and Comparative Examples attached.
The fixing roll and the copied image were visually compared and judged on a five-point scale. In addition, the degree of wear of the fixing roll was determined by copying 10 copies without a cleaning roll after copying 50,000 copies, visually judging the dirt on the fixing roll, and evaluating the peeling difficulty of the tetrafluoroethylene coating layer on a five-point scale. It was judged.

By configuring the present invention as described above, silicone oil application and cleaning can be performed simultaneously. In terms of cleaning action, the cleaning surface, which is the cross-web side, has a large basis weight and uses 4-6 nylon fibers, which increases the physical effect of wiping and does not damage the surface coating layer of the fixing roll. It is possible to supply a sufficient amount of silicone oil. In addition, by using a grease cloth web as the material and using the same type of thermoplastic fibers and heat-resistant fibers such as 4-6 nylon as the binder, the physical effect of wiping is not increased, and the tensile strength and durability are improved. The running cost is low due to long life maintenance.
This has the advantage that it is possible to obtain a copying machine cleaning roll that allows the apparatus to be made smaller.
