Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate flattening of the surface of a printing base and reduce wear of a squeegee by providing the squeegee with a flat surface parallel to the printing base, and moving the squeegee in parallel to the surface of the printing base while maintaining the flat surface in surface contact with a screen. CONSTITUTION:A squeegee 15 for printing a plurality of pastes 17 in a multiplicity of layers on a printing base 10 has a flat surface parallel to the surface of the printing base 10, namely, to the surface of a screen 16. With the flat surface maintained in surface contact with the screen 16, the squeegee 15 is moved in parallel to the surface of the printing base 10, whereby the screen 16 is pressed against the printing base 10, and the paste 17 placed on the screen 16 is rubbed against the surface of the printing base 10 to achieve screen printing.

Detailed Description of the Invention [Industrial Field of Application] The present invention is used for screen printing of electronic components such as laminated inductors, etc., particularly on the printed substrate surface where unevenness is likely to occur when laminated in multiple layers. It's about a squeegee.

Screen printing technology is used in various fields, and recently it has been used to manufacture printed laminated parts such as laminated inductors and laminated capacitors. These electronic components are printed with multiple layers of alternating conductive paste and insulating paste (ferrite, dielectric ceramic).

In particular, in the case of a laminated inductor, as shown in FIG. 2, the conductor pattern 21 is formed while connecting the layers of the ferrite 22, so it must be printed on the surface of the printed substrate with steps (irregularities).

FIG. 3 is a front sectional view showing a state in which screen printing is performed on the surface of a printing substrate having steps as described above. The printing substrate 30 has steps (irregularities), and the squeegee 25 presses the screen 26 and moves from left to right in the figure to rub the paste 27 onto the surface of the printing substrate 30.

A squeegee with a pointed tip is used to rub the paste. There are those that are formed at an acute angle as shown in Figure 3, and those that are formed at right angles and are used with an inclined portion.

However, in any case, as shown in FIG. 3, when printing in the recessed portion 30a of the printing substrate 30, the paste to be printed on this portion may be scraped out. This makes it difficult to flatten the printing surface, and especially when printing in multiple layers, the layers are repeatedly stacked without being flattened.
This poses a major problem in terms of yield and reliability.

In other words, in a screen printing squeegee for printing multiple layers of paste on a printing substrate, the squeegee has a plane parallel to the printing substrate and moves parallel to the surface of the printing substrate while making surface contact with the screen. This method is characterized in that the screen is pressed against the printing substrate to print the paste.

The squeegee 15 has a flat surface that comes into contact with the screen 16. That is, a surface parallel to the surface of the printing substrate 10 is formed, and this surface contacts the screen 16 and moves in a direction parallel to the surface of the printing substrate 10.

The dimension of the squeegee 15 in the advancing direction is preferably larger than the interval W between the convex portions of the printing substrate 10. This can prevent the squeegee 15 from scraping out the paste in the recesses 10a of the printing substrate 10. Therefore, the printing surface is flattened.

For example, in the case of a laminated inductor, several dozen elements are formed on a single substrate. Since the conductor patterns are arranged regularly in the vertical and horizontal directions, the dimensions of the squeegee can be determined according to the spacing between the arrangement.
