Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 見肌玖１遣 本発明は、−膜内に吸収パッド、特に使い捨゛ておむつ
及びベツドパッドのごとき製品に使用するための吸収パ
ッドに関する。
更に特定すると本発明は、パッド中に吸収された液体の
望ましくない浸出を回避するように、その構造において
実買的にスクィーズ不可能（ｎｏｎ−ｓｑｕｅｅｚａｂ
ｌｅ）な吸収パッドに関する。
例えば使い捨ておむつに使用するための典型的な吸収パ
ッドは、防湿表面層と、透湿または水分透過表面層とで
構成されており、これらの２つの層の間には砕木パルプ
または他のセルロース材料といった吸収材料が置かれて
いる。このような吸収パッド、使い捨ておむつ等は典型
的には該製品に圧力がかかるまでは効果がある。圧力が
かかると、先に吸収された水分がパッドから絞り出され
得、これによってその吸収製品としての有効性が低減す
る。
本発明は、幾分かの吸収力を有するだけでなく、先に吸
収された内容物が絞り出されることに抵抗を示す製品を
提供することによって、前記問題点を解消する。
Ｓｃｈｍｉｄｔの米国特許第４，２４８，８２２号は重
要であり、これは吸収材料のための透湿性フィルム被覆
を開示している。
ル匪玖皇１ 本発明は、第１の外側フィルム、前記第１のフィルムに
接着された第２のフィルム及び前記第１のフィルムと第
２のフィルムとの間に閉じ込められた気体バブルとを有
する不透湿熱可塑性支持体と、前記支持体の第２のフィ
ルムの気体バブルが形成された部分に接着された透湿性
内側フィルムと、前記透湿性内側フィルムと前記支持体
の第２のフィルムとの間の空間にある気体バブル間の間
隙と、吸湿性材料で充填された前記間隙とを含む吸湿パ
ッドを提供する。
更に本発明は、不透湿熱可塑性フィルムを用意するステ
ップと、第２の熱可塑性フィルムを加熱するステップと
、前記加熱されたフィルム内にバブルを形成するために
前記フィルムを真空にするステップと、前記第２のフィ
ルムを前記第１のフィルムに接着するステップと、前記
気体バブル間の間隙中に吸湿性材料を注入するステップ
と、前記支持体の第２のフィルムの気体バブルが形成さ
れた部分に透湿性内側フィルムを接着するステップとを
含む吸湿パッドを製造する方法を提供する。
添付の図面を参照することで本発明がより容易に理解さ
れるであろう。
ｌ主１ 第１図において、典型的な吸収パッド１０は不透湿層１
２と透湿層１４とを有する。
外側の層１２と１４との間にはセルロース毛羽または他
の吸湿材料１６が閉じ込められている。
吸収パッド１０が圧縮されると、材料１６中に先に吸収
された液体または水分が透湿層１４を通して絞り出され
得る。このことは、吸収パッド１０のその意図された用
途に対する有効性を低減することになる。
この問題点を解消するために、本発明は改良された吸収
パッド２０を提供する。
吸収パッド２０は、第１の外側フィルム２２と第２のフ
ィルム２４とを有する不透湿熱可塑性支持体を包含して
おり、第２のフィルムは第１の外側フィルム２２にフィ
ルムが隣接するセグメント２６のところで接着されてい
る。
フィルム２２と２４との間には気体バブル２８が断続的
に間隔を置いて設けられている。
気体バブル２８は隣合った気体バブル間に間隙３０を形
成するように置かれている。間隙３０は、セルロース毛
羽、または−、Ｒ，Ｇｒａｅｅ製造の親水性合成ポリマ
ーＨＹＰＯＬ（商標）のような他の吸湿材である吸湿材
料３２で充填されている。
透湿内側フィルム３４は、第２のフィルム２４にパッド
内の気体バブルが存在するところで接着されている。こ
の透湿性フィルムは、前記したような最終用途に充分な
透湿性を有するものであり、穿孔フィルムであってもよ
い。
本発明は、水分が透湿層３４を通過して吸湿材料３２に
吸収される、使い捨ておむつのような用途に特に適して
いる。気体バブル２８は、実質的な量の吸収された液体
が材料３２から放出されるのを防止するための構造用支
持体として作用する。
前記説明から、吸収パッド２０の全体有効吸湿力は、単
にパッド内にフィルタとして使用される吸湿材料３２の
全体量及び種類のみならず、先に吸収された液体が放出
されるのが回避される程度によっても評価されるべきで
あることは明らかである６５業者には、バッド２０によ
り多くのまたはより少ない吸湿材料３２を与えるために
、気体バブル２８及び間隙３０の分布の相対的な大きさ
及びパターンを種々の方法で変更し得ることが理解され
るであろう。
吸収パッド２０を製造するためには種々の技術を使用す
ることができるが、好ましい方法においては、第１の外
側フィルムを用意し、第２のフィルムを第１のフィルム
に接着する。
この接着ステップの前に第２のフィルムを加熱しておき
、フィルム中に気体バブルを形成するような間隔で真空
にする。次いで吸湿材料を支持体の気体バブル間の間隙
に加え、更に横遺体を完成させるために透湿フィルムを
加える。

Claims (5)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. （１）ａ）ｉ）第１の外側フィルム、 ｉｉ）前記第１のフィルムに接着された第２のフィルム
    、 ｉｉｉ）前記第１のフィルムと第２のフィルムとの間に
    閉じ込められた気体バブル とを含む不透湿熱可塑性支持体と、 ｂ）前記支持体の第２のフィルムの気体バブルが形成さ
    れている部分に接着された透湿性内側フィルムと、 ｃ）前記透湿性内側フィルムと前記支持体の第２のフィ
    ルムとの間の空間にある前記気体バブル間の間隙と、 ｄ）吸湿性材料で充填された前記間隙 とを含む吸湿パッド。
  2. （２）前記気体バブルが空気バブルである請求項１に記
    載の吸湿パッド。
  3. （３）前記吸湿性材料がセルロース材料または親水性合
    成ポリマーである請求項１に記載の吸湿パッド。
  4. （４）前記気体バブルを、前記第１のフィルムと第２の
    フィルムとの間に実質的に規則的なパターンで分布させ
    た請求項１に記載の吸湿パッド。
  5. （５）ａ）不透湿熱可塑性フィルムを用意し、ｂ）第２
    の熱可塑性フィルムを加熱し、 ｃ）前記加熱されたフィルム内にバブルを形成するため
    に前記フィルムを真空にし、 ｄ）前記第２のフィルムを前記第１のフィルムに接着し
    、 ｅ）前記気体バブル間の間隙中に吸湿性材料を注入し、 ｆ）前記支持体の第２のフィルムの気体バブルが形成さ
    れた部分に透湿性内側フィルムを接着することを含む吸
    湿パッドを製造する方法。
