Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は横型の上包み機、より詳しく言えば物品を包装
するために、連続的に移動中の熱可塑性フィルムを重ね
合わせ、それをヒートシールするための揺動型シール装
置に関する。
本発明のシール装置が付設される上包み機は1981年
12月15日付米国特許第4,712,357号に開示
しである。該上包み機は連続走行中の管状の熱可塑性包
装材料に対して物品を連続挿入し、挿入と同時に該包装
材料を縦方向にシールすると共に、物品間をシール、切
断することによって気密封止の個装を行うものである。
本発明は連続的に移動中の2枚の熱可塑性フィルムを高
速でヒートシールするための揺動型シール装置を開示す
る。電熱式抵抗線が湾曲したアーチ形に形成され、移動
中のフィルムに対して+1!’[脱可能に圧接される。
フィルムをシールする熱源として抵抗線に電源を接続さ
せる。加熱された抵抗線に沿ってフィルムが移動すると
、抵抗線のフィルムとの接触部からフィルムへ熱が移る
。この熱損失を補うために、あたかも揺り椅子のランナ
ーを床上で揺動させるように、アーチ状の抵抗線を揺動
運動させることによって、移動するフィルムに対して抵
抗線の異なった部分を逐次接触させることができる。こ
のような揺動式抵抗線を使用すれば、高速度で抵抗線を
通過するフィルムを連続的にヒートシールすることがで
きる。フィルムを均等に加熱するために、抵抗線はハー
トカムを介して一定速度で駆動される。フィルムの移動
が停止したときフィルムに大きな溶融穴が生じないよう
に抵抗線をフィルムからPltlB2させるための装置
が設けである。
第1図は本発明が付設される水平型上包み機(10)を
示す。上包み機(10)は複数個の物品(12)を運搬
するための一対の可動ベルト(11a)、 (1?b)
を備えていて、一対の支持@(18a)、 (18b)
上に装着された一対のロール(17a)、 (17b)
の一方から熱可塑性フィルム(1G)を引出しつつ該物
品(12)を覆い包む。フィルム(16)は複数個のロ
ーラ(22)を通過後、成形装置(23)によってシー
ト状フィルム(16)から管状フィルム(24)に成形
される(第2図)。
フィルムを管状に張合わせるために、上包み機(10)
に搭載されたシール用の抵抗線装置(28) (第2図
)を用いてフィルム(16)の端)! (16a)、 
(16b)を加熱する。上包みI(10)の制御キャビ
ネット(34) (第1図)内には電子制御回路(図示
省略)と、電源(30) (第2図)とが装着しである
シール用の抵抗線装置(28)(M2図及び第3図)は
一対の端子(36)間を結合づるアーチ形抵抗線(35
)を具備する。これらの端子(36)は複数個の絶縁体
(40)を介してH字形ホルダ(41)から絶れされて
いる。H字形ホルダ(41)は、一対の案内軸(46)
と、一対のコイルばね(41)と、一対の直線運動用玉
軸受(48)とを介して角ブラケット(42)に弾装さ
れている。角ブラケット(42)は中空IH52)に締
結しである。電源(30)は、一対のリード線(54a
)(54b)と、一対のスリップリング(56a)、 
(56b)と滑動可能に係合する一対のブラシ(55a
)、 (55b)とを通り、さらに中空軸(52)内に
挿通された一対のリード線(57a)、 (57b)を
経て端子(36)k:接続される。スリップリング(5
6a)、 (56b)は中空fNl(52)上に[され
たドラム(58)上に装着されるほか、スリップリング
(56a)、 (56b)は通常の方法で互いに絶縁し
である。
中空軸(52) (第2図及び第3図)は、ハウジング
(60)に固着された一対の軸受(59)内に回転可能
に支持されている。ハウジング(60)(第2図)が、
固定式U字形フレーム(67)の一対の溝(65)、 
(66)に嵌挿された上下移動板(61)に連結しであ
る。フレーム(67)は一対の垂直部材(71a)、 
(71b)及び水平部材(12)を備えている。つまみ
(77)を回転すると、ねじ付き軸(74)と、つまみ
(77)と、一対のカラー(78)、 (79)とを介
して、上下移動板(61)がフレーム(67)の水平部
材(72)に対して上下動する。
異なった種々のサイズの物品(12)に応じて、つまみ
(77)を回してベルト(11)に対する抵抗線(35
)の高さを調節する。抵抗線(35)を管状フィルム(
24)に物品と物品の間の部分で圧接させ、かつベルト
(11)上で物品の目詰りが生じた際に抵抗線(35)
を上方に移動させるように、コイルばね(47)が抵抗

か、成形装置(23) (第1図)を抵抗線装置(28
)に調整可能に連結させるためのスロット(80a)を
穿設している。複数本のボルト(図示省略)をスロット
(80a)に調整可能に挿通し、成形装置ff (23
)に連結させることができる。成形装置(23)は上下
移動板(61)と−緒に上下動するが、ブロック(81
)と抵抗線(35)に対して調整可能である。中空Ql
l(52)(第2図及び第3図)を揺動させると、揺り
椅子のランナーが床上で揺動するのと同じように、抵抗
線(35)が管状フィルム(24)の表面上で前後に揺
動する。第2図に示す装置の残余の部分は、中空軸(5
2)に揺動運動を与えるほか、管状フィルム(24)が
動作を停止した際に抵抗線(35)を管状フィルム(2
4)から分離するように働く。
中空軸(52) (第2図)の揺動運動はハート形みぞ
(84)を設けたハートカム(83)と、該みぞ(84
)に嵌入されたカム従節(85)とによって作動される
ハートカム(83)は回転軸(89)上に心違いに装着
されており、該回転軸(89)はプーリー(90)によ
ってウオーム歯車(91)を介して回転可能に駆動され
る。
駆動ベルト(95)がプーリー(90)に動力を供給す
る。
従節(85)は、水平部材(97)に連結されたビン(
96)上に取着しである。水平部材(97)は一対のブ
シュ(102)(1個のみを図示)に連結されている。
これらのブシュ(102)は、一対の支持ブロック(1
06)、 (107)を連結する一対の垂直軸(103
)上に滑動可能に装着される。支持ブロック(10B)
、 (107)は、複数本のボルト(109)を用いて
支持プレート(108)に固着しである。ウオーム歯車
(91)はプレート(110)に取付けられ、プレート
(11G)は複数本のボルト(109a)によって支持
プレート(108)に固着されている。ハートカム(8
3)が回転すると、従節(85)が溝(84)に沿って
移動し、従節(85)と、水平部材(97)と、ブシュ
(102)とが上下動する。
水平部材(91)に連結された歯付きベルト(112)
がプーリー(113)上に巻着され、ざらにばね(11
4)に連結しである。ばね(114)はブラケット(1
16)を介して支持ブロック(107)に固着されたア
イボルト(115)に取着されている。ばね(114)
の引張力は一対の調整ナツト(117a)、 (117
b)を用いて調整される。歯付きベルト(112)の一
端(112a)が上下動すると、この運動はベルト(1
12)とばね(114)とに伝動し、プーリー(113
)と中空軸(52)とが揺動し、それに伴ってホルダ(
41)と抵抗線(35)とが揺動する。カムの輪郭は、
抵抗線(35)が等速度で運動をするように設定されて
いる。抵抗線(35)(第2図及び第3図)の揺動運動
は、各ストローク毎に素早く反転するので、抵抗線(3
5)の加熱面が連続的に新たに管状フィルム(24)に
提供される。
一対のローラ(118)、(119)  (第2図)が
それぞれに対応して歯付きベルト(112)の付近に設
けられた一対の軸(120)、 (121)に嵌着され
ており、かつ該軸(120)、 (121)は支持プレ
ート(108)に固定しである。別のローラ(124)
がクレードル(126)にピン(125)で回転可能に
連結されている。クレードル(126)に連結された空
気シリンダ(130)がローラ(124)を歯付きベル
ト(112)に関して水平方向に接近離隔させる。ベル
ト(11)と管状フィルム(24)が運動を停止すると
、空気シリンダ(130)が作動し、ローラ(124)
を右側(第2図)に引き込むことによって、歯付きベル
ト(112)がローラ(118)、 (119)の部分
表面に巻着する。この結果、プーリー(113)と、中
空@(52)と、ホルダ(41)とが矢印(131)で
示すように、右回りに回転するので、抵抗線(35)も
管状フィルム(24)から離脱して上方に傾動し、第3
図の二点鎖線で示す位置に達する。このようにすると、
ベルト(11)の運転停止の際にも熱可塑性フィルムに
大きな溶融穴が生じるのを防止することができる。
熱可塑性の管状フィルムを本発明の揺動式電熱線に対し
て圧接させると熱が電熱線からフィルムに移る。揺動式
電熱線は、その新たな加熱面を管状フィルムに絶えず提
供するために、管状フィルムの表面上で揺動する。この
結果、管状フィルムが電熱線を迅速に通過できるので、
様々な物品に応じて管状フィルムを高速でシールするこ
とができる。
本発明をその最も好ましい実施態様について説明したが
、本発明の主題に反することなく、種々な変更と修正と
を実行できることは自明である。

Claims (8)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. (1)連続的に移動中の熱可塑性フィルムを重ね合わせ
    、重ね合わせた部分を高速でヒートシールするための揺
    動型シール装置であって、 電熱式抵抗線と、 上記抵抗線を上記移動中の熱可塑性フィルムの近傍に装
    着させる装置と、 電源と、 上記電源を上記抵抗線に選択的に接続させる装置と、 上記移動中の熱可塑性フィルムに対して新しい加熱面を
    逐次提供するために、上記抵抗線を揺動させる装置とを
    含むシール装置。
  2. (2)上記フィルムの送り停止時に上記フィルムから上
    記抵抗線を分離させるための装置を含む、請求項1記載
    のシール装置。
  3. (3)揺動軸と、該揺動軸上に上記抵抗線を装着させる
    装置とを含む、請求項1記載のシール装置。
  4. (4)上記抵抗線をアーチ形に形成することによって、
    上記抵抗線が揺動しながら上記フィルムとの圧接を保持
    することを特徴とする、請求項1記載のシール装置。
  5. (5)上記抵抗線を一定速度で揺動させながら上記熱可
    塑性フィルムに接触させるための装置を含む、請求項4
    記載のシール装置。
  6. (6)連続的に移動中の2枚の熱可塑性フィルムを高速
    度でヒートシールするための揺動型シール装置であつて
    、 電熱式抵抗線と、 上記抵抗線を上記移動中の熱可塑性フィルムの近傍に枢
    着させる装置と、 電源と、 上記電源を上記抵抗線に選択的に接続させる装置と、 上記抵抗線をその近傍に位置する上記熱可塑性フィルム
    に圧接させるようにする装置と、上記移動中の熱可塑性
    フィルムに対して新しい加熱面を逐次提供するために、
    上記抵抗線を揺動させる装置とを含むシール装置。
  7. (7)上記抵抗線の形状が揺れ椅子のロッカーのように
    形成されており、かつ上記揺動装置の作動により上記抵
    抗線が揺り椅子のランナーが床上で揺動するように、上
    記熱可塑性フィルムに密接するので、上記熱可塑性フィ
    ルムに対して新たな加熱面を連続的に提供し得ることを
    特徴とする、請求項6記載のシール装置。
  8. (8)上記フィルムの移動が停止すると上記フィルムか
    ら上記抵抗線を分離するための装置を含む、請求項6記
    載のシール装置。
