  1. 原稿をフイードする原稿フイードユニツトがコ
    ンタクトガラス上に載置されるように設定された
    複写機において、原稿フイードユニツトのコンタ
    クトガラス面上への載置の有無を検出する検出手
    段と、この検出手段の検出結果に応じて、原稿ス
    ケールの少なくとも原稿フイード方向に対向する
    側をコンタクトガラス面から退避させる原稿スケ
    ール退避手段とを備えていることを特徴とする複
    写機。
