Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the circulation of dust and its sticking on an internal surface and to improve the reliability by providing a dust cleaning filter around the outer periphery of a magnetic disk. 駆動部3と、それらを取り囲んで装着したベース・プレ
ート5をカバー7にて密封したヘッド・ディスク組立体
(以下HDAという)よりなっており、この密閉された
HDA内には内部に発生した塵埃を浄化するため、駆動
軸を構成するハブ部の内壁やHDA内部の余剰空間(例
えば、磁気ヘッドの側面近傍や磁気ディスク面の上部)
等へユニット化したフィルタ6を設置していた。

スクの回転停止後に再び磁気ディスク面上に落下するこ
とがあり、そのために磁気ディスクや磁気ヘッドが損傷
してクラッシュ事故を発生し、磁気ディスク装置の信頼
性を低下させるという欠点があった。
