Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable automation of dyeing treatment of an organism piece for observation of an immune reaction by a small quantity of treating solution, by dripping the treating solution for dyeing onto a part protruding from the lateral edge of slide glass on a pedestal element. CONSTITUTION:A pedestal element 2 has a width larger than the one of slide glass 4 on the lower surface of which an organism piece is stuck, and a bank- shaped part 3 having a very small height is formed in one end thereof. A support plate element 9 is made slightly higher than the bank-shaped part 3 provided in the other end part of said pedestal element 2. Dripping of a treating solution is conducted by a dripping means which takes out a treating solution vessel by a takeout arm and transfers it above the pedestal element 2. Besides, a washing solution is discharged from a discharging port 10 by a washing solution supply means made up of a supply pump 13 and a washing solution storage tank 15, while the treating solution containing the washing solution is exhausted from an exhaust port 11 by a treating solution exhaust means made up of a supply pump 17 and an exhaust solution tank 19.

That is, when staining is performed automatically, conventionally, the processing solution is placed in a beaker-shaped container, and the slide glass with the tissue piece pasted is immersed in the processing solution in this container, so that the tissue piece and the processing solution are mixed together. Although we try to keep them in contact with each other, it is unavoidable that the amount of processing liquid used increases.

(Function) When staining a tissue piece taken out from a living body using the immunoreaction staining apparatus of the present invention configured as described above,
A slide glass with a tissue piece to be stained is placed between a bank-shaped part and a support plate provided at the end of the pedestal part, with the part to which the tissue piece is affixed facing the upper surface of the pedestal part of the block. To support. In this state, a thin wedge-shaped gap is formed between the lower surface of the slide glass and the upper surface of the pedestal, which gradually becomes wider as the distance from the bank-like portion increases.

As mentioned above, there is a space between the lower surface of the slide glass and the upper surface of the pedestal, which gradually becomes wider as it moves away from the bank.
Since a wedge-shaped thin gap is formed, the processing liquid dropped on the top surface of the pedestal spreads inside this gap due to capillary action and comes into contact with the tissue piece attached to the bottom surface of the slide glass.

In this way, when the tissue piece on the bottom surface of the slide glass was brought into contact with the processing solution for a predetermined period of time, the processing solution discharge means, which had been stopped until then, was activated and opened at a position close to the bank-shaped part. Drain the processing liquid from the outlet. After completion of discharging the processing liquid, the processing liquid discharging means is stopped, and the cleaning liquid supply means, which had been stopped until then, is operated for a predetermined period of time to discharge the cleaning liquid from the discharge port provided in the vicinity of the bank-shaped portion. do.

Between the lower surface of the slide glass 4 that covers the pedestal section 2 and is supported so that a hook is passed between the upper edge of the bank-shaped section 3 and the upper surface of the support plate section 9, and the upper surface of the pedestal section 2, As mentioned above, since a wedge-shaped thin gap is formed that gradually widens as it moves away from the bank-shaped part 3, the processing liquid dropped on the top surface of the pedestal part 2 flows inside this gap by capillary action. As it goes, it comes into contact with the tissue piece attached to the lower surface of the slide glass 4.
