Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a sanitary pot lid, made of glass and having excellent see-through properties at a low cost by pressing flat glass with a heat-resistant shaping roller and heat-resistant nip roller in a specific mode, then heating and curving the pressed flat glass with a forming machine. CONSTITUTION:Flat glass 1 is rotatably mounted at the center thereof on a fulcrum and a shaping roller 2 is freely rotatable and simultaneously has a structure capable of moving and pressing to the peripheral part 4 of the flat glass 1. The peripheral part 4 of the flat glass 1 is heated with a heater. The shaping roller 2 is subsequently moved to the side of a the peripheral part 4 of the rotating flat glass 1 to bring a corner part 7 which is a boundary between the first recessed part 5 and the second recessed part 6 of the shaping roller 2 into contact with the center of the thickness of the peripheral part 4 and carry out gradual pressing. After the shaping, the shaping roller 2 is withdrawn and a nip roller 10 is brought near the peripheral part. The first roll (10a) and the second roll (10b) of the nip roller 10 are moved so as to nip the peripheral part 8 of the deformed flat glass. The first roll (10a) is slowly pressed downward. The flat glass is then wholly curved in a hot-pressing type forming machine and worked into a pot lid.

By heating the peripheral edge of the plate glass formed into a disk shape, the peripheral edge is uniformly softened. Then, by rotating (rotating) the plate glass side or rotating (revolving) the forming roller side along the peripheral edge of the plate glass, the softened peripheral edge is pressed toward the center by the forming roller. The peripheral edge is shaped into the shape of the recess of the forming roller, but the surface of the sheet glass corresponding to the open end of the recess is heated and softened, resulting in a gap between the surface of the sheet glass. The peripheral edge can be smoothly shaped into the shape of the recessed part of the shaping roller. Since the X-shaped roller is freely rotatable, the periphery of the rotating glass plate is uniformly shaped. However, at this time, the edges of the molten glass tend to become rounded due to surface tension, which tends to be less than 1%, and the entire plate glass tends to wave.

By pinching the peripheral edge of such a glass plate with a nip roller without rotating it, the waving of the glass plate is corrected, the direction of melting at the tip is corrected, and the thickness is restored to its normal thickness.

In this example, the side surface of the forming roller 2 has a deep first recess 5 and the aforementioned shallow second recess 6. First, the forming roller 2 is moved to the side surface of the peripheral edge 4 of the rotating plate glass 1,
The corner 7 of the forming roller 2, which is the boundary between the first recess 5 and the second recess 6, is brought into contact with the center of the thickness of the peripheral edge 4 and gradually pressed. Then, the softened peripheral edge 4 is deformed to form a head 8 that rises at the top and legs 9 that hang down at the bottom.
is provided, the surface of the temporary glass 1 corresponding to the opening end of the second recess 6 is softened through the heating action of the burner 13, and the plate glass l is softened in the process of forming the leg portion 9. It can be shaped without creating a gap between it and the surface.

FIG. 3 shows a situation in which the edge is held between the nip rollers 10.
A and the 20th rule 10b are moved so as to sandwich the head 8 of the peripheral edge of the deformed glass plate, and the 10th rule 10a is gradually pressed downward. As a result, the bulge in the head 8 is corrected, and at the same time, the distortion and waving of the entire glass plate are corrected.

As shown in FIG. 5, the forming roller 2 of this example has a recess 11 on the side surface of the roll, which is rounded at the back and has a U-shaped cross section. Further, although not shown, a pair of upper and lower burners are disposed toward the peripheral edge of the glass plate 1 in correspondence with the open end of the recess 11.

That is, if the burner is arranged toward the peripheral edge of the glass sheet in correspondence with the opening end of the recess of the forming roller as described above, and the burner does not heat and soften the surface of the glass sheet corresponding to the opening end of the recess. , as shown in both FIGS. 8 and 9, the surface of the glass plate 1 corresponding to the open end of the recess is not sufficiently softened, so that the gap between the base of the leg 9 and the glass plate 1. A gap 14 is created in the gap 14, and the wall thickness becomes thinner by the gap 14, which reduces the strength of the leg portion 9. In addition, the boiling liquid will enter the gap 14 and become dirty. In the present invention, the surface of the glass plate 1 corresponding to the open end of the recess is heated and softened, and the JR edge 4 of the glass plate 1 is pressed toward the center by the forming roller 2. Shaping can be performed without creating such a gap 14.
