Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the artistic design property of a metallic foil by giving tension to the metallic foil in the entry side of an embossing roll, bringing the metallic foil into contact with one piece of roll immediately before a part where it comes into contact with the embossing roll and allowing it pass through. CONSTITUTION:An embossed pattern is give to a metallic foil (steel foil band) 1 by two pieces of upper and lower embossing rolls 4. Subsequently, tension 7 is given to the metallic foil 1 by changing a position of a deflector roll 3 in the entry of the embossing roll 4. Next, immediately before a part where the metallic foil comes into contact with two pieces of embossing rolls 4, it is brought into contact with one roll of two pieces of rolls 4 and allowed to pass through. In such a way, the artistic design property of the metallic foil can be enhanced.

By the way, most embossing equipment is of a continuous line type equipped with a coiler-uncoiler, but there is also a type of embossing equipment that processes cut plates.

Conventional embossing equipment mainly uses plate thicknesses of 0.3 to 0.5
Since it is configured for the purpose of embossing a ym color steel plate, gold II foil, especially 100μ thick
Embossing the following foils with these equipments is difficult: the size and depth of the embossed pattern is relatively large compared to the thickness of the foil; It causes wrinkles and is pulled in in the width direction as it runs, making it impossible to obtain a satisfactory embossed material. Although this is not a problem when embossing narrow foils, it becomes a particularly difficult problem for wide foils of about 500 m or more in width.

Means for Solving the Problem> The present inventors carefully observed the behavior of steel foil during embossing, and investigated the effects of deformation when the foil undergoes embossing with two wooden upper and lower rolls. It was discovered that because of the effect on the flat part of the foil just before it enters the foil, the foil becomes wavy in the width direction, which then transfers to the embossing process using the upper and lower rolls, leading to wrinkles. Thus, preventing the occurrence of wrinkles during embossing of the foil. It is important to prevent the part immediately before entering between the upper and lower embossing rolls from waving in the width direction, and the present invention has achieved this. In the method of application using an embossing roll, tension is applied to the metal foil on the entry side of the embossing roll, and the metal foil
This is a metal foil embossing method characterized by passing the sheet through contact with one of the two rolls immediately before the point where the book comes into contact with the embossing roll, and the metal foil has a thickness of 100 μm or less. Mild steel foil or stainless steel foil can be suitably used.

Function> Examples of embossing equipment to which the method of the present invention can be applied include a coiler 5, an uncoiler 2, and an uncoiler 2 as shown in FIG.
There is a continuous line of equipment with four pairs of two embossing rolls each having an uneven pattern.

When embossing foil with this equipment, in the method of the present invention, a tension (back tension) opposite to the progress of the foil is applied in the longitudinal direction of the foil coil at the entrance side of the roll, and the foil is connected to two rolls. It is passed through in contact with a part of the circumference of one of the two rolls immediately before the contact point, and if either of these two conditions is lacking, sufficient effects cannot be obtained.

In other words, tension alone cannot prevent the foil from waving and deforming, and without tension, the foil will not contact the roll uniformly, so the effect is not sufficient in this case either. This has the effect of preventing the foil from waving and deforming in the width direction, and by applying tension, the foil comes into even contact with the roll, making it even more deformable (and preventing wrinkles from forming). , embossing can be carried out stably. In this case, the magnitude of the tension is small (for example, 0, 1 kg /
A sufficient effect can already be seen with the tension of ``.tra''.On the line where the foil coil is passed through, the line tension is controlled to be low to prevent the foil from breaking, but it is usually well above the required tension value above. .

Although the embossing method has been explained here by taking an example of continuous line equipment, the gist of the method of the present invention lies in the tension of the foil and the threading method, and a coiler and an uncoiler are not essential. Needless to say, since the required tension is only a small amount, it can be applied to embossing equipment for cut plates with appropriate equipment.

In other words, the steel foil is 1/8 of the circumference of the embossing roll.
Good results were obtained when embossing was carried out in contact with the circumference of the embossing roll and with tension applied, but when no tension was applied, the steel foil was passed through the embossing roll in contact with the circumference even with tension Good results were not obtained when direct embossing was performed.

<Effects of the Invention> When manufacturing processed products such as building materials using a recently developed new product such as wide steel foil, embossing is effective for improving the design. Although it was difficult to embossing wide steel foil using conventional embossing equipment, the present invention has made embossing metal foil possible for the first time. This makes it possible to improve the design of metal foil and produce a variety of new processed products, greatly contributing to the development of industry.
