Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve image quality through stabilization of ink mist jet action as well as through prevention of diffusion of jet ink mists to reduce the recording dot diameter, by almost equalizing the jet speed of the recording medium to the speed of surrounding air. CONSTITUTION:Ink mist streams 9 are jetted out of a plurality of nozzles 5 arranged laterally, and air streams are flowed almost at the same speed as the streams 9 along the outer wall 12 so as to sandwich these nozzles 5. As a result, the streams 9 jetted out of the nozzles 5 reach paper 10 in the form of a mist stream condensed by the condensing effect of the nozzles 5 with little influence of disturbance. Therefore, the paper 10 is printed without the diffusion of recording dot diameter, thus showing improvements in image quality.

Prior Art FIG. 3 is a side sectional view for explaining an example of the prior art of an inkjet recording apparatus using ink mist as a recording medium, and FIG. 4 is a partial front view, in which 1 indicates ink, 2 is a vibrator, 3 is a fan, 4 is an ink mist, 5 is an ink mist ejection port (nozzle), 6 is a return ink mist,
7 is a control electrode, 8 is a gutter, 9 is a recording ink mist, 10 is a recording paper, and the operating principle is, for example, I

M shown in 1etin Vol. 15 No. 8
Similar to ink printers, the ink atomized by the vibrator 2 becomes an ink mist 4, which is simultaneously charged by a charging device (not shown) and sent to the nozzle 5 by an air flow generated by a fan 3. or,
The control electrode 7 is turned on and off in response to one pixel signal, the charged ink mist is deflected, and only the necessary mist 9 reaches the paper 10, and the deflected mist is transferred to the gutter 8.
The mist can be collected or reused as a mist. This mist stream produces a focusing effect by the nozzle, and is ejected as a fine mist stream depending on the nozzle diameter.

However, as the distance from the nozzle increases, the diameter of the mist stream becomes larger and more diffuse, and when it reaches the paper, it becomes a larger recording diameter, and resolution cannot be improved.

FIG. 5 is a sectional view of a main part for explaining another example of the prior art, and FIG. 6 is a partial front view thereof. It has been established. In this example, if the nozzle 5 is a single nozzle, the high-speed airflow flows from the entire circumference of the nozzle, so there is not much turbulence in the high-speed airflow, and there is no effect on the ink mist ejection characteristics. do not have. However, in the case of a multi-nozzle like the illustrated example, especially in the case of a high-density nozzle, there is airflow only above and below the nozzle and not on the left and right, so turbulence is likely to occur, affecting the discharge characteristics. In the case of a nozzle that cannot be constructed with a thin section, that is, when L in the figure is large, there is a large step difference in the air flow, and the air pressure in the left and right parts of each nozzle, that is, the part A in the figure becomes a large negative pressure, causing turbulent flow.

Purpose The present invention was made in view of the above-mentioned circumstances.
In particular, this was done with the aim of stabilizing the ink mist ejecting operation and improving responsiveness, as well as preventing the ejected ink mist from spreading and reducing the diameter of the recording dots to improve image quality.

FIG. 1 is a side sectional view for explaining one embodiment of an inkjet recording apparatus according to the present invention, and FIG. 2 is an overall perspective view of the inkjet recording apparatus shown in FIG. The same reference numerals as in FIGS. 3 to 6 are given to parts having the same functions as those in the prior art shown in FIGS. 3 to 6. In the ink jet recording apparatus according to the present invention, as shown in the figure, a mist stream is ejected from a plurality of nozzles 5 arranged in a horizontal direction, and a mist stream is ejected from a plurality of nozzles 5 arranged in a horizontal direction.

The airflow is guided by the outer wall 12 so as to sandwich the bottom. This air flow is set at approximately the same speed as the mist flow jetted from the nozzle 5. Therefore, the mist stream ejected from the nozzle 5 is almost unaffected by external disturbances and can reach the paper sheet as it is focused due to the focusing effect of the nozzle. Therefore, printing can be performed without the recording dot diameter being diffused, and the resolution can be greatly increased. Furthermore, the distance between the nozzle and the paper can be increased, the paper can be fed easily, and it becomes easier to take measures against jams and stains on the paper.

Effects As is clear from the above explanation, according to the present invention, (a) By making the ejection speed of the recording medium and the speed of the air around it almost the same, the generation of turbulence is prevented and the dot position accuracy is improved. The effect is great because it can improve the turbulence, and it is dispersed by special turbulent flow.
