PURPOSE:To attain charging of a waste tire while rendering harmless an air pollutant-contg. gas generated during charging, by conducting roll charging of a waste tire while sucking the gas in a carbonizing chamber through a coal charging aperture by means of a charging car dust collector for a coke oven. CONSTITUTION:A charging car 4 is positioned above an empty carbonizing chamber 1. A vertically moving chute 9 and a hood 10 are lowered and concurrently a connector 12 is connected to a fixed duct 13. Then, suctein of the gas in the carbonizing chamber 1 is started through a coal charging aperture 3. Along with these operations, a guide 23 of waste tire charging device 19 of a coke push-out apparatus 18 is positioned at an oven port 24 of the carbonizing chamber 1, and doughnut-form waste tires 22 are rolled on a slope 21 and a carbonizing chamber bottom face 20 and fed into the carbonizing chamber 1, followed by fitting of an oven lid to the oven port 24.
