Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the absorbability of calcium into a body by heating oyster shell to form a lamellar structure on the surface and ionizing the structure by electric discharge. CONSTITUTION:Oyster shell having a water-content of >=0.1% is heated at about 1100 deg.C to evaporate the water and form a lamellar structure having a number of laminated lamellae on the surface. The treated shell is subjected to electric discharge treatment to effect the electrodecomposition and ionization according to the reaction formula I and obtain the subject calcium consisting of the ionized calcium of formula II.

1100℃程度に加熱しても水分の蒸発がないので表面
は第4図、第5図に示す如く、表面に小さな粉末が付着
した状態になっており、従って水酸化カルシウムや炭酸
カルシウムと同じようになり体内への吸収性がよくない
という問題点があった。
