Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a composition, containing a hen's egg antibody specifically binding to bacteria causing periodontosis and capable of inhibiting propagation of the bacteria causing the periodontosis in the oral cavity and preventing colonization and propagation of the bacteria causing the periodontosis in the oral cavity. CONSTITUTION:An anti-periodontosis composition containing >=0.001wt.% hen's egg antibody capable of specifically binding to bacteria, such as Bacterioides gingivalis, causing periodontosis. The hen's egg antibody is obtained from egg yolk of an egg produced by a hen hyperimmunized with the bacteria causing the periodontosis as an antigen at a low cost and suitable for mass production as compared with a method for obtaining the antibody from mammalian blood. The above-mentioned antibody has neither activating action on complements nor fear of local inflammatory reaction. Since the afore-mentioned composition is capable of specifically binding to the bacteria causing the periodontosis, other indigenous bacterial floras in the oral cavity. 用を示し、かつ予防を目的とした長期の連用に於て安全
性の高い物質を探すへく鋭意研究をを重ねた結果、歯周
病原因菌に特異的に結合する鶏卵抗体が同菌の生育を阻
害することを見い出し、該鶏卵抗体の応用として本発明
を完成させた。
