Abstract

PURPOSE:To apply a uniform electrostatic coating by fixing one end of a tape to a plastic part, fixing the other end to a metallic part, applying a conductive primer on the plastic part and tape, and then simultaneously electrostatically coating the metallic and plastic parts. CONSTITUTION:When the fuel filler lid of a car body is electrostatically coated, for example, one end of a tape 10 is fixed to the fuel filler lid 4 as the plastic part, and the other end of the tape 10 is fixed to a metallic hinge 5 through a bolt 6. A conductive primer is applied on the plastic part and tape 10 under such conditions, and dried. By this operation, electric conductivity is imparted to the surface of the plastic part. Subsequently, an atomized paint is negatively charged in an electrostatic coating booth with a material to be coated as the anode to simultaneously deposit the paint on the metallic and plastic parts as the material to be coated, and intermediate coating and final coating are carried out.

If you try to apply electrostatic painting to a car body that has some resin parts built in at the same time, the charge rate will be different from the metal car body panel because the resin parts are non-self-conductors, and the resin parts will be coated with electrostatic paint. There is a problem that the paint adheres to the surface, making it impossible to apply uniformly.

27870 and JP-A-81-2458135 are known. Japanese Patent Publication No. 81-227870
The technology disclosed in JP-A-61-245885 connects a metal vehicle body panel and a resin fuel filler lid using a metal jig, and the technology disclosed in JP-A-61-245885 connects a metal vehicle body panel and a resin fuel filler lid. By applying a conductive primer in advance and applying salt so that the conductive primer comes into contact with the vehicle body panel, the vehicle body panel and the resin fuel filler lid can be electrostatically coated at the same time.

On the other hand, according to Japanese Patent Application Laid-open No. 61-245885, the above problem is solved, but 1. For example, when the fuel filler lid is opened in order to electrostatically paint the concave part of the vehicle body provided inside the fuel filler lid at the same time. When performing electrostatic painting, the conductive primer applied to the fuel filler lid loses contact with the vehicle body, creating an electrically discontinuous state and preventing uniform electrostatic painting.
