モリ及び通信制御プロセツサ、16はモジユレー
タ、17はデモジユレータ、18は表示用ブラウ
ン管である。カメラ11から読出された像は圧縮
用コーダ・デコーダ12でA/D変換され同時に
出来るだけ圧縮時の高いコーダで例えば直交変換
により変換され、メモリ15に蓄積される。メモ
リ15から読出されたデイジイタル信号はデイジ
イタルモデム16(例えば4800b/s)を通して
電話回線を経由して着信側デモジユレータ17に
到着する。着信側では送信側と逆の処理で1度メ
モリ15に蓄積し之をビデオ速度でデコードしな
がらブラウン管18に表示する。この方式は白黒
テレビとして4800b/sモデムを用いて1フイー
ルド伝送るために60〜80秒の時間要し、カラー画
像であると150秒近い時間がかかるので遅いこと、
高速A/D変換装置、高速直交変換等のコーデツ
ク、及びデイジイタルモデムの三者が高価である
ので、デイジタルメモリが廉価となつても装置全
体が高価で一般利用者への普及は困難であつた。
