Generally, when welding must be performed while holding down a part very close to the welding point due to the joint shape of the welding part,
Conventionally, in order to prevent weld metal from adhering to the work holding pin, copper with good heat dissipation efficiency was used for the work holding pin, or the weld metal adhering to the work holding pin was blown off with air. However, the conventional configuration as described above has had various problems as described below. That is,
Copper has the characteristic that it is difficult for weld metal to adhere to it and is easy to remove it when compared to ordinary iron, but if it is too close to the welding area, the temperature of the copper itself will rise and this characteristic will disappear. The same applies to air blowing, which is effective only when the welding area is quite far away and the weld metal is not completely welded to the workpiece holding pin. Furthermore, since copper is conductive, the arc may fly directly to the work holding pin due to bending of the wire or bending of the torch, resulting in severe wear and tear.

FIG. 1 is a sectional view of essential parts showing an embodiment of a workpiece clamping device for an arc welding machine according to the present invention. In the figure, reference numeral 1 denotes a main workpiece, 2 a tube-shaped workpiece to be welded to the main body workpiece 1, the main body workpiece 1 is placed on a main body workpiece receiver 3, and the tube-shaped workpiece 2 is a tube-shaped workpiece. It is designed to be placed on the workpiece receiver 4. Further, a clamp 5 is disposed above the main body work receiver 3, and a work holding pin 6 for holding down the tube-shaped work 2 is disposed above the tube-shaped work receiver 4. .
The clamp 5 and the workpiece holding pin 6 are configured such that the clamp 5 presses the upper part of the main workpiece 1 and the workpiece holding pin 6 presses the upper part of the tube-shaped workpiece 2 by starting the welding equipment. ing. Thereafter, the welding torch 7 moves forward to a predetermined position as shown in FIG. In this state, the welding torch 7 rotates (travels) along the circumference of the tube-shaped work 2 to weld the main body work 1 and the tube-shaped work 2. Then, after welding, the workpiece holding pin 6 rises independently and enters the state shown in FIG. 2. Now, to explain the structure of the workpiece holding pin 6 in more detail, the workpiece holding pin 6 is attached to a shaft 9 that is provided to be able to move up and down with respect to the clamping device main body 8.
is fixed to the lower end of the
It is configured to be able to move up and down following the up and down movement of the shaft 9. After welding of the main workpiece 1 and the tube-shaped workpiece 2 is completed, the workpiece holding pin 6 is configured to be raised by a drive device (not shown). In addition, when welding the main workpiece 1 and the tube-shaped workpiece 2, the weld bead 11 (see FIG. 3) may protrude onto the upper surface 2a of the tube-shaped workpiece 2, or the welded metal may overlap the upper surface of the tube-shaped workpiece 2. The outer diameter of the workpiece holding pin 6 is formed to be larger than the outer diameter of the tube-shaped workpiece 2 so as not to adhere to the workpiece 2a. The workpiece holding pin 6 has the above-mentioned functions, but in this embodiment, the workpiece holding pin 6 is formed of ceramic, and the upper end flange portion 12a is attached to the clamping device main body 8 around the workpiece holding pin 6. It is characterized by a structure in which a collector chuck-shaped scraper 12 (see FIG. 4) is fixed to the workpiece holding pin 6 and whose lower end inner surface is formed to scrape off welded metal adhering to the work holding pin 6. With this configuration, it becomes possible to scrape off the weld metal adhering to the outer circumferential surface of the workpiece holding pin 6 with the scraper 12 every time the workpiece holding pin 6 is raised and lowered, so that stable welding can be completed. Workpiece (As shown in FIG. 3, the bead 11 at the welding part between the main workpiece 1 and the tube-shaped workpiece 2 is the upper surface 2a of the tube-shaped workpiece 2.
This makes it possible to produce workpieces that do not protrude, and to make the life of the workpiece holding pin 6 semi-permanent.

This is definitely prevented.

Air is fed into the cleaning hole 14 at the ascending end position of the shaft 9 (see FIG. 2), and the air is blown out from the hole 15. In particular, the weld metal that has accumulated on the inner surface of the scraper 12 due to insufficient scraping is blown off to the outside through the collector groove 12b and hole 12c of the scraper 12.

As explained above, according to the present invention, a workpiece clamp for an arc welding machine is provided with a workpiece holding pin that is movable up and down relative to the clamping device body and clamps the workpiece together with a workpiece receiver when descending. In the device, the workpiece holding pin is formed of ceramic, and a scraper is arranged around the workpiece holding pin and is fixed to the clamping device main body and formed to scrape off welded metal adhering to the circumferential surface of the workpiece holding pin. With this structure, it is possible to reliably prevent welded metal (spatter) from adhering to the circumferential surface of the workpiece holding pin, which makes it possible to produce stable welded workpieces, and also to prevent the workpiece holding pin from sticking to the circumferential surface. It has various excellent effects such as making the lifespan semi-permanent.
