しての効果が殆んどない。無張力状態ではストリップの
剛性が弱まると共にストリップが躍るときには幅方向に
傾いて上下することが多いため、サイドガイド10のセ
ンタリング効果が発揮されず、巻取られたコイル外周筒
が発生しやすい。またピンチロール3のみではタイトな
巻取り状態を得るに充分な張力を与えようとする板厚が
変化する程の押付は力が必要であったり、ピンチロール
3のレベリング不良や偏摩耗があった場合は逆にストリ
ップが幅方向にずれて巻形状不良を招く。更に仕上圧延
機から尾端が抜けた直後に発生するストリップの躍りに
よってストリップ9がピンチロール3に折れ込み、形状
不良となり、場合によってはストリップの破断となって
多大な被害をもたらす。

リードを付与し、ストリップ尾端の仕上圧延機通過後に
おいても磁力によるストリップのホットランテーブルロ
ールへの引きつけ力に比例した張力を付与する。

鳥状配列によりストリップ9は変形し難くなる。
