Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the quality of magnetic properties and noise properties, etc. of a rolled iron core by forming a rolled iron core ring by forming a scribing line at the predetermined position on the way of winding a steel strip on a takeup frame and cutting the scribing line by the tension acting on the steel strip when forming it in a rectangular shape. CONSTITUTION:A steel strip 10a drawn from a wound silicon steel strip ring 10 is sequentially guided through a roll 11, a tension brake 12 and a scribing unit 13, and is then passed through a machining unit 12 made of a pair of rolls for bending, and is thus taken up on a winder 16. The scribing unit 13 forms a scribing line 30a in a thicknesswise direction on the steel strip 10a by an instruction from a controller 18. The controller 18 has switches disposed around itself to drive the strip 10a at a high speed when feeding it, to drive it at an extremely slow speed or stop it when scribing the strip and to control the length of scribing lines. The rolled iron core ring thus scribed is formed in a rectangular shape by press-fitting a wedge-type core, and is cut at the scribing line by the tension. Thus, the strip can be accurately butted, and the number of steps can be reduced, and the quality of the magnetic properties and noise properties can be improved.
