Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily integrate and abolish exchanges by providing a device to divide a telephone number and the accommodating position information of a telephone set and to logically hold the corresponding relation independently of respective exchanges. CONSTITUTION:An exchange 2 can communicate with a number converter 1 by using a common line signal, etc. When the accommodating position information of the telephone set to change an accommodating position and the telephone number of a telephone are sent to the number converter 1, the number converter 1 changes the corresponding data of the telephone number and accommodating position information stored in the device, and a number conversion thereafter is executed based on the data. A subscriber designates the telephone number given to the telephone set by using a specific telephone set, and further, the exchange sends the accommodating position information and telephone number of the exchange to the number converter. Thus, the telephone number of oneself can be given to any telephone set.

FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram of a general embodiment of the invention. In the figure, 1 is a number conversion device that holds correspondence information between a telephone number and the accommodation location information of the telephone, 2 is an exchange that has a communication function with the number conversion device, and 3 is a telephone housed in the exchange 2. , 4 is a called side telephone, 5 is a called side exchange that accommodates the telephone 4, and 6 is a relay exchange. Also,
7 is a communication path between the exchange and the number conversion device. In this embodiment, the operation when making a call from telephone 3 to telephone 4 will be described. First, when the exchange 2 receives the telephone number of the telephone 4 from the telephone 3, it transmits the number to the number conversion device 1 via the communication path 7, and receives the housing location information of the telephone 4 from the number conversion device 1. The exchange 3 selects the destination exchange 5 based on this information. Because it operates in this way, for example, even if a telephone 3 housed in the exchange 2 is relocated to the exchange 5, communication to the telephone 3 can be made by simply changing the housing location information of the telephone 3 in the number conversion device 1. You can keep your original phone number. It goes without saying that accessing the number translation device is not essential for calls from telephones housed in the exchange 2 to telephones housed in the same exchange, and can be processed only within the own exchange.

In the figure, the exchange 2 is capable of communicating with the number conversion device 1 using common line signals, etc.
When the housing location information of the telephone whose housing location is to be changed and the telephone number of the telephone are sent to the telephone number converter 1, the number conversion device 1 changes the correspondence data between the telephone number and the housing location information stored in the device, and Subsequent number conversion is performed based on this data. In addition, the subscriber instructs the exchange that accommodates a particular telephone to specify the telephone number to be assigned to the telephone using a specific number, and the exchange further instructs the telephone exchange that accommodates the telephone and the telephone number to be assigned to the telephone. By sending your phone number, you can assign your phone number to any phone.

FIG. 3 is a schematic diagram of an embodiment in a communication network in which exchanges to which the present invention is applied and existing exchanges coexist. In the figure, 1, 3, 4.7 are the same as in FIGS. 1 and 2, 12 is an exchange to which the present invention is applied, 13 is an exchange to which the present invention is not applied, and 14 is an exchange to which the present invention is applied. 15 is a telephone set transferred from the exchange 12 to the exchange 14; 16 is a relay exchange; 17 is a relay line from the exchange 13 to the relay exchange 16; 18 is a relay line from the exchange 13 to the relay exchange 16;
19 is a direct line between the exchange 13 and the exchange 12. In this embodiment, the format of the telephone accommodation location information is the same as the format of the telephone number consisting of the area code, local code, and subscriber number. Also,
The exchange 12 has correspondence information between the telephone number of the telephone that was transferred from the exchange to another exchange and the accommodation location information of the relocated telephone.
A function is provided to transfer calls received at the exchange 12 to the accommodating exchange at the transfer destination without going through a number conversion device outside the exchange.

In this embodiment, since the exchange 13 does not have a communication function to the number conversion device 1, calls made from the exchange 13 to the telephone 15 are not converted, and are sent directly through the direct line 19 or through the line 17. Once the call arrives at the exchange 12 via the relay exchange 18 and the relay exchange 16, the exchange 12 has a function to transfer this call, so the call is
0 or line 18.21, the call can arrive at the transfer destination exchange 14. In addition, relay exchange 1
6 also has the function of accessing the number conversion device 1,
It goes without saying that when the switching system 13 selects the trunk line 17, the call does not arrive at the switching system 12, but can be directly selected from the trunk switching system 16 to the switching system 14. Furthermore, since the format of the accommodation location information is the same as that of a normal telephone number, no special signal transfer method is required in the exchange on the called side. Because it operates in this way, the telephone set housed in the exchange 12 can be transferred to an existing exchange without a communication function to a number conversion device, while keeping the same number.

As described above, the present invention not only eliminates the need to change the telephone number even if a telephone is relocated, but also has the advantage that it is easy to consolidate and abolish the exchanges because there are no restrictions on the housing locations of telephone numbers and exchanges. Furthermore, in the event of a failure at a central telephone office, it is also possible to temporarily transfer the telephone number to another central office while keeping the same telephone number. Additionally, since the same area number can be assigned across different exchanges, it is also possible to eliminate restrictions on number capacity due to physical limitations, which means that in the past, when the number of subscribers increased, the number of digits in the local area code was increased. It is also possible to improve the situation. Furthermore, the present invention can partially obtain the above effects without being applied to all exchanges in a communication network.
