Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease the radiation noises from a display surface and to improve display quality by providing a conductive meshed electrode which is disposed via an insulating layer between at least one transparent electrode and glass substrate and exhibits a meshed pattern shape. CONSTITUTION:This display element is constituted by sandwiching a liquid crystal layer 5 from both sides by the glass substrate 1, an X electrode 4, the glass substrate 7 and a Y electrode and further by disposing the conductive meshed electrode 2 having the meshed pattern running vertically and horizontally between dots via the insulating layer 3 between the glass substrate 1 and the X electrode 4. This conductive meshed electrode 2 has a sufficient electrical conductivity and is grounded to a frame ground in order to obtain a sufficient shielding effect. The mesh is constituted of the black fine patterns which shut off the transmitted light. The high-frequency noises transmitted therethrough are thus attenuated by the grounded conductive meshed electrode 2 and the display which is sharp in the edge parts of the respective dots is obtd. by the black mesh pattern. The radiation noises from the display surface are decreased and the display quality is improved by providing the conductive meshed electrode to the display element.
