本発明は液晶表示装置に関し、更に詳細には液
晶パネルを連続して集合配列した液晶表示装置に

達する光量を制御することで図形や文字などの表
示を行なつている。

に液晶を動作させる信号の端部となる電極3aを
薄く平板状に設けてなる端子部3が形成されてい
る。この実施例では接続基板7は液晶パネル1と
ほぼ直角に接続されている。8は液晶パネル1の
端子部3の各電極3aと接続基板7の導体パター
ン9とを直接接続する接続導体で、半田を用いて
いる。10は液晶パネル1に設けた透明電極から

板7bの端部を予め折り曲げ、その折り曲げ端部
を液晶パネル1の端子部3に接続するようにすれ
ば、端子部3と接続基板の接続が熱圧着で行なえ
る。更に、第7図に示されるように液晶パネル1
の端子部3に形成された電極を金属蒸着などの方
法で液晶パネル1における後面板のガラス端面に
引き延ばし、このガラス端面側の電極に接続基板
7cを接続するようにすれば、液晶パネル1の端
子部3を短くすることができ、その結果多数の液
晶パネルを連続させて液晶表示装置を構成した場
合、隣接する液晶パネル1間の画素間隔をより短
くできる。また、第8図に示されるように液晶パ
ネル1における後面板のガラス端面に半田層の端
子11を設け、この端子11に接続基板7aを重
ねつつ基板端面をパネル端子部に突合せ、そして
基板7dの上から加熱、加圧することにより、液
晶パネル1の端子部3と接続基板7dおよび端子
11の隙間に接続導体12となる半田が流れ込ん
で導通させることができる。これによれば前述と
同様に液晶パネルの端子部3を短くすることがで
