Abstract

PURPOSE:To carry out the continuous feeding of a tape for electronic part array by advancing a tape retainer member and sticking the end of a tape for electronic part array to the end of other tape for electronic part array at the adhesive layer thereof at the time of detecting the rear end of the tape for electronic part array by a detector. CONSTITUTION:A reel table 1 on which a tape T1 to be delivered first and a tape T2 to be delivered next are installed is reversible by means of a support shaft 2. A tape retainer member 3 is placed on one side of a tape conveying passage X while a tape receiving member 5 is fixedly placed on the opposite side. An upper cutting edge 6 is installed on this tape retainer member 3 and is moved together with the retainer member 3 to cut the tape T1. Also, a detec tor 9 for detecting the rear end of the tape T1 is placed in the forward direction of the tape conveying passage X, and the rear end part of the tape T1 the adhesive layer of which is directed to the conveying passage X side is bonded to the front end side of the tape T2 by advancing the retainer member 3 and, after that, the rear end part is cut by means of upper and lower cutting edges 6, 8.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, since this electronic component tape normally holds about 4,000 electronic components every 41 pitches and is fed intermittently at a high speed of 0.2 seconds, it takes about I have to change the hook to another one after about 20 minutes. As a result, it is not only necessary to assign a full-time worker to each machine and to frequently change parts, but also to temporarily stop the automatic mounting machine each time, resulting in lost time. .

Means for Solving the Problems In the end-to-end connection device for electronic component tapes according to the present invention, two electronic component tapes wound around each reel, the tape to be currently sent out and the tape to be sent out next, are connected to each other. A tape holding member is provided on one side of a tape conveyance path through which one of the electronic component tapes is sent out from the reel stand, and is movable forward and backward, and on the opposite side across the tape conveyance path. A tape receiving member is arranged to hold another electronic component tape on the starting end side, with the adhesive layer attached to the starting end facing the tape transport path, and the terminal end of the electronic component tape is further placed along the tape transport path. A cutter device for cutting and a detector for detecting the terminal end of the electronic component tape are arranged, and in response to the detection of the terminal end of the electronic component tape by the detector, the tape pressing member and the tape receiving member cut the tape. The terminals are bonded together by pressure, and the terminal end of the electronic component tape can be cut using a cutter.

Function: In this end-to-end connection device for electronic component tape, when the detector detects the terminal end of the electronic component tape, the tape pressing member moves forward in response to the command and presses the terminal end of the tape against the tape receiving member. As a result of this pressure welding, it is possible to bond the electronic component tape with another electronic component tape whose starting end is held in advance by a tape receiving member using the adhesive layer facing the tape conveyance path, and the cutter reels the terminal end of the electronic component tape. By separating the tape from the machine, the operator can feed the tape continuously without stopping the machine by simply loading the next electronic component tape as needed.
