Claims (8)
- ディスプレイ装置であって、
電源供給部と、
映像を出力するディスプレイパネルと、
前記ディスプレイパネルに光を提供する複数の単位ブロックを含むバックライトユニットと、
前記ディスプレイパネルを介して出力される前記映像に対応するように前記バックライトユニットから出力する光を制御するバックライトディミング制御部と、
を含み、
前記複数の単位ブロックのそれぞれは、複数のLEDを含み、
前記ディスプレイパネルの全体領域は、複数の第1単位ブロックを含む第1ローカル領域と、複数の第2単位ブロックを含む第2ローカル領域とに区分され、
前記電源供給部は、前記第1ローカル領域の第1単位ブロックに第1駆動電圧を供給し、前記第2ローカル領域の第2単位ブロックに前記第1駆動電圧と異なる第2駆動電圧を供給し、
前記第1単位ブロックの大きさは、前記第2単位ブロックの大きさより小さく、
前記第1ローカル領域は、前記全体領域のうちの中央領域であり、
前記第2ローカル領域は、前記中央領域を取り囲む外郭領域であり、
前記第1単位ブロックに含まれたLEDの数は、前記第2単位ブロックに含まれたLEDの数と同一である、ディスプレイ装置。 - 前記第1単位ブロックに含まれた隣接したLEDの間の間隔は、前記第2単位ブロックに含まれた隣接したLEDの間の間隔と異なる、請求項1に記載のディスプレイ装置。
- 前記バックライトディミング制御部は、前記第1単位ブロックの輝度補償量を計算し、計算された輝度補償量を反映したディミング信号を前記バックライトユニットに伝達する、請求項1に記載のディスプレイ装置。
- 前記バックライトディミング制御部は、前記第1単位ブロックに相応する第1輝度量を計算し、前記第2単位ブロックに相応する第2輝度量を計算し、前記第1輝度量と前記第2輝度量の差を前記輝度補償量として計算する、請求項3に記載のディスプレイ装置。
- 前記第1単位ブロックに相応する前記輝度補償量を貯蔵するメモリーをさらに含み、
前記バックライトディミング制御部は、前記メモリーから前記輝度補償量を読み出し、読み出した輝度補償量を反映した前記ディミング信号を前記バックライトユニットに伝達する、請求項3に記載のディスプレイ装置。 - 前記第1単位ブロックに含まれた隣接したLEDの間の間隔は、前記第2単位ブロックに含まれた隣接したLEDの間の間隔より小さい、請求項2に記載のディスプレイ装置。
- 前記第1単位ブロックに含まれたLEDの発光効率は、前記第2単位ブロックに含まれたLEDの発光効率より高い、請求項1に記載のディスプレイ装置。
- 前記第2駆動電圧の大きさは、前記第1駆動電圧の大きさより大きい、請求項1に記載のディスプレイ装置。
