Description

Claims (8)
- 回転部材に対する流体力学的シールを形成するためのシールアセンブリのセグメントであって、
a)第1及び第2の側部の間を延び、前記回転部材との流体力学的シールを形成するための径方向内面を画定する本体であって、
(i)前記本体の第1及び第2の側部の間を延びる主表面と、
(ii)前記主表面から凹設された流体入口部分と、
(iii)前記流体入口部分に隣接して位置付けられ、かつ周方向に延びる流体力学的パッド領域であって、前記流体力学的パッド領域が、ランド部分によって分離された第1のセクション及び第2のセクションを含み、前記第1及び第2のセクションが、前記主表面から凹設され、前記第1及び第2のセクションは、前記第1及び第2のセクションが周方向に前記流体入口部分から離れる方向に延びるにしたがって徐々に減少する深さを有し、前記主表面で終端する、流体力学的パッド領域と、を画定する、本体を備える、シールアセンブリのセグメント。 - 前記第1及び第2のセクションのうちの一方又は両方が、一定の幅を有する、請求項1に記載のセグメント。
- 前記セグメントが、カーボン材料から形成される、請求項1に記載のセグメント。
- 前記第1及び第2のセクションが、互いに等しい長さを有する、請求項1に記載のセグメント。
- 前記セグメントが、前記主表面に隣接する周方向溝を更に含む、請求項1に記載のセグメント。
- 前記第1と第2のセクションの組み合わせた幅が、前記主表面の幅のそれの少なくとも半分である、請求項1に記載のセグメント。
- 前記セグメントは、流体力学的シールアセンブリを構成する複数のセグメントのうちの1つである、請求項1に記載のセグメント。
- 前記流体力学的シールアセンブリは、前記複数のセグメントを該複数のセグメントがリングを形成するように支持するフランジを含む、請求項7に記載のセグメント。
