Description
複数のタブの長さを異ならせた捲回電極体において、タブそれぞれの最短距離の平均値が相対的に小さい一方側のタブの少なくとも一部を除くことで、該複数のタブ間のずれ(具体的には、複数のタブ間の捲回軸方向に直交する方向におけるずれや捲回軸方向におけるずれ等)を好適に抑制することができる。これによって、捲回電極体を備えた電池を生産性高く得ることができる。

かかる構成によると、捲回電極体が備える複数のタブを集箔した際に、タブ間の捲回軸方向におけるずれをより好適に抑制することができるため、好ましい。また、いくつかの態様において、上記捲回電極体が備える上記複数のタブのうち、上記最短距離が最も小さいタブ以外のタブそれぞれの上記最短距離は、上記関係式(II)を満たす。
図1は、電池100の斜視図である。図2は、図1のII-II線に沿う模式的な縦断面図である。図3は、図1のIII-III線に沿う模式的な縦断面図である。図4は、図1のIV-IV線に沿う模式的な横断面図である。以下の説明において、図面中の符号L、R、F、Rr、U、Dは、左、右、前、後、上、下を表し、図面中の符号X、Y、Zは、電池100の短辺方向、短辺方向と直交する長辺方向(捲回軸方向ともいう)、上下方向を、それぞれ表すものとする。ただし、これらは説明の便宜上の方向に過ぎず、電池100の設置形態を何ら限定するものではない。なお、以下では、第1電極を正極とした場合について説明するが、ここで開示される技術は、第1電極を負極とした場合についても適用することができる。また、ここで開示される技術は、正極および負極ともに適用されていてもよい。
電池100の製造方法は、上記したような電池ケース10(外装体12および封口板14)と、電極体群20(電極体20a、20b、20c)と、電解液と、正極端子30と、負極端子40と、正極集電部50(正極第1集電部51および正極第2集電部52)と、負極集電部60(負極第1集電部61および負極第2集電部62)と、正極内部絶縁部材70および負極内部絶縁部材80と、を用意し、例えば、第1取付工程と、第2取付工程と、挿入工程と、封口工程と、を含む製造方法によって製造することができる。また、ここに開示される製造方法は、任意の段階でさらに他の工程を含んでもよい。

- 第1電極と、第2電極とが、セパレータを介して捲回された扁平状の捲回電極体と、
前記捲回電極体を収容する電池ケースと、
を備えた電池であって、
前記捲回電極体は、前記第1電極および前記第2電極が、前記セパレータを介して複数積層された積層構造を有しており、
前記捲回電極体の捲回軸方向における一方の端部からは、前記第1電極に接続された複数のタブが突出しており、
前記捲回電極体の厚み方向において、前記捲回電極体の捲回中心よりも一方側に存在する前記複数のタブそれぞれの、前記一方の端部から前記タブの突出方向における先端に至るまでの最短距離の平均値は、前記捲回中心よりも他方側に存在する前記複数のタブそれぞれの、前記最短距離の平均値よりも小さく、
前記一方側に存在する前記複数のタブの前記最短距離の平均値と、前記他方側に存在する前記複数のタブの前記最短距離の平均値との差は、前記捲回電極体の厚みよりも小さく、
前記一方側における、前記第1電極の積層数をA、前記タブの枚数をBとしたときの比(B/A)は1よりも小さく、
前記一方側および前記他方側に存在する前記複数のタブは、前記厚み方向において、前記捲回中心よりも前記一方側に偏在した位置に集箔された、電池。 - 前記比(B/A)は、前記他方側における、前記第1電極の積層数をC、前記タブの枚数をDとしたときの比(D/C)よりも小さい、請求項1に記載の電池。
- 前記Bは前記Dよりも小さい、請求項2に記載の電池。
- 前記比(B/A)は、0.5より大きく1より小さい、請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載の電池。
- 前記比(B/A)は、0.75より大きく1より小さい、請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載の電池。
- 前記捲回電極体における捲回同一周において、前記一方側に存在する前記タブの前記最短距離は、前記他方側に存在する前記タブの前記最短距離よりも小さい、請求項1~5のいずれか一項に記載の電池。
- 前記厚み方向における前記他方側の外端から前記一方側の外端にかけて、前記タブの前記最短距離が漸次減少するように短くなる、請求項1~6のいずれか一項に記載の電池。
- 前記複数のタブは、前記一方側に集箔領域を備えており、
前記捲回軸方向における一方の端部から前記集箔領域に至るまでの最短距離をa、前記集箔領域の前記突出方向における長さをs、前記捲回電極体の厚みをd、前記捲回電極体が備える前記複数のタブそれぞれが具備する前記最短距離の最小値をH、最大値をH’としたとき、以下の関係式(I)および(II)を満たす、請求項1~7のいずれか一項に記載の電池。
