The present invention relates to men's tops such as T-shirts.

Conventionally, the men's clothing disclosed in the following Patent Document 1 has been proposed. This men's clothing is a T-shirt, and in order to make the nipple area of the clothing less noticeable, a recess is provided on the reverse side of the front chest part to accommodate the man's nipples. The fabric of the front chest part may be doubled, and the recess may be formed on the reverse side of the reverse fabric.

However, the conventional technology is designed to make nipples less noticeable when seen on the surface of a top, and does not make the bulge of the chest less noticeable. For example, when wearing only a T-shirt, even a man with large breasts may find the bulge of his chest noticeable to himself or others. However, the conventional technology only targets the nipples and does not make the bulge of the breasts less noticeable. Even if the fabric on the front chest part is doubled, simply putting two pieces of fabric on top of each other merely makes the fabric thicker, and is not sufficient to make the bulge of the chest less noticeable.

According to the invention described in claim 1, a lining is provided on the reverse side of the front body at least in a position corresponding to the chest. Moreover, the left and right ends of the lining are sewn to the left and right separated places of the front body, with the left and right ends separated by a dimension shorter than the separation dimension. In this case, the front body is positioned with some slack between the left and right ends of the lining. According to the invention described in claim 1 , the front body and the lining are integrated at the neckline to maintain a good appearance, while the armholes are not sewn, which prevents the lining from completely overlapping the front body and makes the fullness of the chest less noticeable. Also, by not sewing the armholes, the movement of the sleeves is not restricted, making it easier to wear.

The invention described in claim 2 is the men's top described in claim 1, characterized in that the vertical dimension of the lining fabric in the armhole area is shorter than the vertical dimension of the front body.

According to the invention described in claim 2 , by forming the lining in the armhole area to be smaller than the front body, the lining is prevented from completely overlapping the front body, making the bulge of the chest less noticeable.

The invention described in claim 3 is a men's top described in claim 1, characterized in that the lining is designed to cover not only the chest but also the abdomen, and the hem of the lining is positioned higher than the hem of the front body .

According to the invention described in claim 3 , by providing the lining not only to the chest but also to the position corresponding to the abdomen, it is possible to make the bulge of the stomach less noticeable. Also, since the hem of the lining is positioned higher than the hem of the front body, the lining is not visible from the outside, and the appearance can be maintained.

The invention described in claim 4 is the men's top described in claim 3, characterized in that it is provided with a tag containing one or more indications of the washing method, size, material, manufacturer, distributor, country of origin, etc. of the men's top, and this tag is provided between the front body and the lining, at the hem of the front body or the lining.

The present invention makes it possible to create a top for men that can be worn without worrying about chest volume.

Next, specific embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.

Figures 2 to 6 are schematic diagrams showing the parts that make up the T-shirt 1 in Figure 1, with Figure 2 showing the front body 2, Figure 3 showing the back body 3, Figure 4 showing the lining 4, Figure 5 showing the sleeve cloth 5, and Figure 6 showing the collar cloth 6. The T-shirt 1 of this embodiment is constructed by placing a front body 2 on the front (the side that faces the chest when worn) and a back body 3 on the back (the side that faces the back when worn), with the necessary parts sewn together. After (or before) the front body 2 and back body 3 are sewn together, left and right sleeves are provided by a pair of sleeve cloths 5, and a collar is provided by a collar cloth 6. Furthermore, as will be described in detail later, the T-shirt 1 of this embodiment has a lining cloth 4 provided on the back side of the front body 2.

In Figures 2 to 6, a double border is basically shown, with an inner and outer border, and the thick inner line I indicates the final shape of the T-shirt 1, and the space between this and the outer line O indicates the seam allowance. In other words, if each part is sewn together with a specified seam allowance and the T-shirt is turned inside out so that the sewn part (seam allowance) is on the inside (i.e., if the T-shirt 1 is used as it is normally used), the T-shirt 1 will have its final shape with no visible seam allowance.

As shown in Figure 2, the front body 2 is made of a roughly rectangular piece of cloth, with the upper parts of both left and right edge portions cut out in roughly semicircular arcs to form the front armholes 2a. The left-right center part of the upper edge portion is also cut out in roughly semicircular arcs to form the front neckline 2b. Furthermore, in the illustrated example, the front body 2 is formed so that the left-right dimension becomes slightly shorter as it goes downward.

Hereinafter, with respect to the front body 2, the parts of both left and right edge parts below the front armhole 2a are referred to as side edge parts 2c. Additionally, the parts of the upper edge part that are laterally outboard of the front neckline 2b are referred to as shoulder parts 2d. In the illustrated example, the shoulder parts 2d are formed so that they slope downwards as they move laterally outboard. The hem (lower edge part) is folded back at the thick line 2e, and the resulting overlapping part is sewn together by a sewing machine at the dashed line 2f.

The back body 3 basically corresponds to the front body 2 and is formed in the same way. Specifically, as shown in FIG. 3, the back body 3 is made of a substantially rectangular piece of cloth, and the upper parts of both left and right edge parts are cut out in a substantially semicircular shape to form rear armholes 3a. However, the rear armholes 3a are formed slightly shallower than the front armholes 2a. The left-right center part of the upper edge part is also cut out in a substantially semicircular shape to form the rear neckline 3b. However, the rear neckline 3b is formed much shallower than the front neckline 2b. Furthermore, in the illustrated example, the back body 3 is formed so that the left-right dimension becomes slightly shorter as it goes downward.

Hereinafter, with respect to the back body 3, the parts of both left and right ends below the rear armhole 3a will be referred to as side parts 3c. Additionally, the parts of the upper end part that are laterally outboard of the rear neckline 3b will be referred to as shoulder parts 3d. In the illustrated example, the shoulder parts 3d are formed so that they slope downward as they move laterally outboard. The hem (lower end part) is folded back at the thick line 3e, and the resulting overlapping part is sewn together by a sewing machine at the dashed line 3f.

A lining 4 is provided on the back surface of the front body 2 (the surface that faces the skin when worn). The lining 4 is basically formed in the same way as the front body 2, but is smaller than the front body 2. Specifically, as shown in FIG. 4, the lining 4 is made of a substantially rectangular piece of cloth, and the upper parts of both left and right edge portions are cut out in a substantially semicircular arc shape to form a middle armhole 4a. The left-right center portion of the upper edge portion is also cut out in a substantially semicircular arc shape to form a middle neckline 4b. Furthermore, in the illustrated example, the lining 4 is formed so that the left-right dimension becomes slightly shorter as it goes downward.

In the following, the parts of the lining 4 that are below the middle armhole 4a on both left and right ends are referred to as side parts 4c. The parts of the upper end that are outside the middle neckline 4b in the left-right direction are referred to as shoulder parts 4d. In the illustrated example, the shoulder parts 4d are formed so that they slope downward as they go outward in the left-right direction. The hem (lower end part) is folded back at the thick line 4e, and the resulting overlap is sewn together by a sewing machine at the dashed line 4f.

Typically, the middle neckline 4b of the lining 4 and the shoulders 4d on both sides of it are formed in a shape that corresponds to the front neckline 2b of the front body 2 and the shoulders 2d on both sides of it. However, as will be described in detail later, the left-right width of the lining 4, including the left-right outer ends of the shoulders 4d, is formed to be slightly shorter than the left-right width of the front body 2. In this case, the front body 2 and the lining 4 can be overlapped with the necklines 2b, 4b and shoulders 2d, 4d corresponding to each other, and in this state, the middle armhole 4a of the lining 4 is positioned laterally inward of the front armhole 2a of the front body 2.

A sleeve cloth 5 is provided on each of the left and right armholes 2a, 3a of the front body 2 and the back body 3. In this embodiment, the sleeve cloth 5 shown in FIG. 5 is used. The sleeve cloth 5 is formed from a substantially rectangular piece of cloth with the upper end edge 5a extending upward in a mountain shape. Both left and right end edges 5b of the sleeve cloth 5 are formed so as to slope inward in the left-right direction as they go downward. The method of attaching the sleeve cloth 5 to the front body 2 and the back body 3 will be described later.

A collar cloth 6 is provided at the necklines 2b, 3b of the front body 2 and the back body 3. In this embodiment, a strip-shaped collar cloth 6 is used as shown in FIG. 6. The collar cloth 6 is folded in half at the widthwise center portion 6a and sewn to sandwich the front body 2 and the back body 3. The method of attaching the collar cloth 6 to the front body 2 and the back body 3 will be described later. Note that, as shown in FIG. 6(b), one piece of the collar cloth 6 folded in half at the widthwise center portion is used with the edge portion 6b folded inward.

As explained above, the T-shirt 1 of this embodiment has the front body 2, back body 3, lining 4, sleeve cloth 5, and collar cloth 6 as its main parts. To construct the T-shirt 1, the back body 3 is overlapped on the back surface of the front body 2, and the left and right side edges 2c, 3c are sewn together. At this time, the lining 4 can be sandwiched between the two and sewn together. In other words, the side edge 4c of the lining 4 is sandwiched between the side edge 2c of the front body 2 and the side edge 3c of the back body 3, and sewn together, for example, by a serger.

The front body 2 and the back body 3 are also sewn together at the left and right shoulders 2d, 3d. In this case, the lining 4 can be sandwiched between the two and sewn together. In other words, the shoulder 4d of the lining 4 is sandwiched between the shoulder 2d of the front body 2 and the shoulder 3d of the back body 3 and sewn together, for example, by a serger. In this way, the lining 4 is provided on the back surface of the front body 2.

In addition, sleeve cloth 5 is sewn to the left and right armholes 2a, 3a of the front body 2 and the back body 3 to provide sleeves. Specifically, in FIG. 5, the right half of the upper edge 5a of the mountain shape is sewn along the front armhole 2a of the front body 2, and the left half is sewn along the rear armhole 3a of the back body 3, with the dashed line as the boundary. In this case, the top of the mountain shape (the center in the left-right direction) of the sleeve cloth 5 is placed at the upper end of the armholes 2a, 3a of the front body 2 and the back body 3 (the outer left-right end of the shoulders 2d, 3d), and the bottom of the mountain shape (the outer left-right end) is placed at the lower end of the armholes 2a, 3a (the upper end of the side edges 2c, 3c of the front body 2 and the back body 3). The lining 4 is not sewn to the front body 2 or the back body 3 at the armhole 4a, but is held to the front body 2 or the back body 3 at the shoulders 4d and sides 4c.

In addition, in FIG. 5, the lower edge of the sleeve fabric 5 is folded back at the thick line 5c, and the resulting overlapping portion is sewn together at the dashed line 5d by a sewing machine. The left and right end edges 5b are also sewn together to form a tubular shape.

A collar cloth 6 is sewn to the necklines 2b, 3b of the front body 2 and back body 3. Specifically, the collar cloth 6 shown in Figure 6 is folded in half at the widthwise center 6a, and the two pieces are sewn together with the necklines 2b, 3b of the front body 2 and back body 3 sandwiched between them. At this time, the front body 2 and the lining cloth 4 are left overlapping each other at the front, and then they are sandwiched by the collar cloth 6 to form the collar. In Figure 6, the right side is attached to the front body 2 and the left side is attached to the back body 3, with the dashed line as the boundary.

The lining 4 is formed smaller than the front body 2. Specifically, in the final finished state, the width dimension of the lining 4 is formed smaller than the width dimension of the front body 2. For example, if the distance between the left and right seams of the front body 2 at the corresponding height of the front body 2 and the lining 4 is the first dimension X1, the distance between the left and right seams of the lining 4 is the second dimension X2, which is shorter than the first dimension X1. Although the first dimension X1 can vary depending on the vertical position, at the corresponding height (corresponding location when the T-shirt is completed), the width dimension of the lining 4 (second dimension X2) is basically set shorter than the width dimension of the front body 2 (first dimension X1). When comparing the body width, which is the dimension between the lower ends of the left and right armholes, the body width of the lining 4 is smaller than the body width of the front body 2.

The extent to which the width of the lining 4 is made shorter than the width of the front body 2 at the corresponding height position is set in consideration of the effect of making the fullness of the chest less noticeable, which will be described later. If this dimension is too large, the front body 2 will be too large and baggy, and if it is too small, the effect of making the fullness of the chest less noticeable will be diminished. For this reason, it is set, for example, 2 to 8 cm smaller, and preferably 3 to 6 cm shorter. In this case, the dimension may be changed slightly according to the size of the T-shirt 1 (sizes S, M, L, etc.), but for simplicity, it is sufficient to set it a predetermined dimension shorter regardless of the size of the T-shirt 1.

In this embodiment, the width of the lining 4 is set to be about 4 cm (2 cm on each side) shorter than the width of the front body 2 in the area below the outer left and right ends of the shoulders 4d of the lining 4. Specifically, when both left and right ends of the front body 2 and both left and right ends of the lining 4 are sewn together, there will be about 4 cm of the front body 2 remaining between the left and right ends of the lining 4. If the slack of the front body 2 is divided equally between the left and right and the front body 2 is placed so that it overlaps the lining 4, both left and right ends of the front body 2 will extend outward in the left and right direction (one way) and be folded back.

This difference in size will basically be the entire area from the outer left and right ends of the shoulders 4d to the hem, but depending on the circumstances, the difference in size may vary from place to place, or may be eliminated in some areas. For example, for a certain distance above the hem of the lining 4, the width of the lining 4 may be the same as the width of the front body 2, rather than being shorter. Even in this case, a difference in size may be created in the position corresponding to the chest, making the bulge of the chest less noticeable.

In addition, in this embodiment, the vertical dimension of the lining 4 is shorter than the vertical dimension of the front body 2 at the armhole 4a. In other words, if the vertical dimension between the outer end of the shoulder 2d and the top end of the side 2c of the front body 2 is the third dimension X3, and the vertical dimension between the outer end of the shoulder 4d and the top end of the side 4c of the lining 4 is the fourth dimension X4, it is preferable that the fourth dimension X4 is set shorter than the third dimension X3. As with the width dimension, the degree to which it is set shorter is determined by taking into consideration the effect of making the bulge of the chest less noticeable and the ease of wearing the T-shirt 1. For example, it is set to 0.5 to 4 cm smaller, and in this embodiment, it is set to 1.5 cm.

Furthermore, in this embodiment, the lining 4 is set shorter than the front body 2 (and back body 3) in the vertical dimension as well (X5 in Figure 1). Because the hem of the lining 4 is positioned higher than the hem of the front body 2, the lining 4 is not visible from the outside, and an attractive appearance can be maintained. How far above it should be positioned is determined in consideration of the effect of making the bulge of the abdomen less noticeable, and the lining should be long enough to cover the abdomen, but the rest can be set as appropriate. In this embodiment, the hem of the lining 4 is positioned about 2 cm higher than the hem of the front body 2.

Clothing is usually affixed with a tag (display label) that includes one or more of the following information: washing method, size, material, manufacturer, seller, country of origin, etc. The tag (not shown) is, for example, made of a roughly rectangular piece of cloth, and is attached by sewing one end to the front body 2 or the lining 4. In this case, it is preferable that the tag is attached between the front body 2 and the lining 4 at the hem of the front body 2 or the lining 4 (typically the entire tag is contained between the front body 2 and the lining 4). This prevents the tag from touching the skin when worn, making it comfortable to wear without any irritation.

The material of each part is set appropriately, but may be, for example, polyester or cotton. In particular, for the front body 2 and lining 4, if the material is highly stretchable and prone to losing its shape, it will be difficult to continuously suppress the fullness of the chest, so polyester, especially what is called "True Dry", is suitable. In this case, it has the advantages of being quick to dry, resistant to discoloration, resistant to losing its shape, resistant to wrinkles, absorbent, feels similar to cotton, is resistant to pilling, and can also be given UV protection properties.

According to the T-shirt 1 of this embodiment, the back of the front body 2 is provided with a lining 4 at least at a position corresponding to the chest. Moreover, the left and right ends of the lining 4, which has a shorter left-right dimension than the front body 2, are sewn to the left and right ends of the front body 2. In other words, the front body 2 is provided with the lining 4 by sewing together the left and right ends of the lining 4, which are separated left and right by a first dimension X1, and the left and right ends of the lining 4, which are separated by a second dimension X2, which is shorter than the first dimension X1. In this case, the front body 2 is positioned with some leeway between the left and right ends of the lining 4. Therefore, even if the lining 4 is in close contact with the chest when worn, the front body 2 on the front side will not be in close contact with the chest, making the bulge of the chest less noticeable. There is also no risk of the nipples protruding from the front body 2.

In this way, in the case of the T-shirt 1 of this embodiment, the shoulder line is aligned with the outer T-shirt body (front body 2 and back body 3), while the width is made slightly smaller than the front body 2, preventing the shape of the chest and stomach from being exposed on the front body 2.

Figure 7 is a photograph showing the T-shirt 1 of this embodiment in use, where the difference in dimensions between the front body 2 and the lining 4 makes it possible to make the breasts and nipples less noticeable. In other words, as shown in the circled area, the lining 4 is short, causing wrinkles in the front body 2, making the breasts less noticeable. This allows anyone to go out casually wearing only the T-shirt 1 without worrying about the fullness of their breasts.

In the case of the T-shirt 1 of this embodiment, the front body 2 and back body 3 are sewn together at the sides 2c, 3c and shoulders 2d, 3d, and the sewn parts can be used to provide the lining 4. The front body 2 and the lining 4 are integrated at the neckline 2b, 4b to maintain a good appearance, while the armholes 4a are not sewn together, which prevents the lining 4 from completely overlapping the front body 2 and makes the bulge of the chest less noticeable. By not sewing the armholes 4a, the movement of the sleeves is not restricted, making it easier to put on.

The men's top 1 of the present invention is not limited to the configuration of the above embodiment, and can be modified as appropriate. In particular, as long as the men's top has a lining 4 on the back surface of the front body 2, at least in a position corresponding to the chest, and the front body 2 is provided with the lining 4 by sewing together the front and rear portions spaced apart from each other by a distance shorter than the distance between the front and rear portions, the other configurations can be modified as appropriate.

For example, in the above embodiment, the lining 4 is configured to cover not only the chest but also the abdomen of the wearer, but in some cases, it may be configured to cover only the chest. In other words, the bottom of the lining 4 may be raised upward to cover only the chest. By covering the chest, it is possible to prevent the chest from bulging out from the front body 2, and further, by covering the abdomen as well if desired, it is possible to prevent the abdominal bulge from appearing in the front body 2.

In the above embodiment, the lining 4 is provided to bridge between the left and right ends of the front body 2 (in other words, the lining 4 is provided by utilizing the seam between the front body 2 and the back body 3), but the left and right ends of the lining 4 may be positioned laterally inward of the left and right ends of the front body 2. In that case, the lining 4 can be provided on the front body 2 by sewing together the front body 2 at a location separated laterally by a first dimension X1 and the left and right ends of the lining 4 separated by a second dimension X2 that is shorter than the first dimension X1. Then, as in the case of a dress shirt described later, the lining 4 may be provided separately on the left and right sides of the back side of the front body 2.

In addition, in the above embodiment, the lining 4 is not sewn to the front body 2 at the hem, but it may be sewn in some cases. In that case, the vertical dimensions of the front body 2 and the lining 4 may be aligned to match the height of the hem of both.

In addition, in the above embodiment, the lining 4 is not sewn to the front body 2 at the armhole 4a, but it may be sewn in some cases. In that case, the shape of the front body 2 and the lining 4 may be the same above the armhole 4a (above the upper end of the side portion 4c).

In addition, while the above embodiment has been described as being applied to a T-shirt 1, the men's top of the present invention is not limited to a T-shirt 1 and can be similarly applied to other tops. For example, it can be configured as a cut-and-sew top or a polo shirt. When applied to these, a lining 4 can be provided on the inside of the front body 2 in the same manner as in the above embodiment. In the case of a polo shirt, the lining 4 can be provided divided into left and right halves in the same manner as in a dress shirt, which will be described later.

In addition, in the above embodiment, both the left and right breasts are covered with a single piece of lining 4, but in the case of a top that opens at the front, such as a dress shirt, the lining 4 may be divided into left and right halves. That is, the lining 4 may be divided into left and right halves so as to cover the left and right breasts separately. In this case, the distance between the left and right ends of the lining 4 is set shorter than the distance between the corresponding locations on the front body 2 to which it is sewn. This makes it possible to suppress the bulging of each breast in each of the left and right linings 4.

The men's top according to claim 3 , wherein the tag is provided between the front body and the lining at the bottom of the front body or the lining. The men's top according to any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein the men's top is a T-shirt, a cut-and-sew top, or a polo shirt.
