前記挿入要素のそれぞれの前記遠位端表面が、それぞれの前記挿入要素がウェルプレートのウェル内に挿入されたときに前記遠位端表面の任意の他の部分よりも更に深く前記ウェル内に延びる先端を備え、
前記先端が、面先端であり、前記面先端の直径が前記遠位端表面の最大直径の半分未満であり、
前記遠位端表面のそれぞれの前記面先端は、実質的に円形であり、
前記挿入要素のそれぞれの前記遠位端表面は、それぞれの前記面先端の周りに同心環を形成する複数の平面の段であって、前記ウェルに嵌合するようにサイズ決めされた複数の平面層を含み、
連続する各平面層は、前記面先端から前記遠位端表面の外周に向かって外方に進むとき、前の平面の段よりも前記基部に近い、ウェルプレートカバー。 - 前記挿入要素のそれぞれの少なくとも一部が少なくとも親水性の表面でコーティングまたは処理されている、請求項1に記載のウェルプレートカバー。
- 容器内の流体試料を撮像するための方法であって、前記方法が、
前記容器内の前記流体試料中に挿入要素の少なくとも遠位端表面を挿入することであって、
前記挿入要素の少なくとも一部が透明であり、
前記遠位端表面が、前記遠位端表面の任意の他の部分よりも更に深く前記容器内に延びる先端を備え、
前記先端が、面先端であり、前記面先端の直径が前記遠位端表面の最大直径の半分未満であり、前記面先端が、実質的に円形であり、前記挿入要素が、前記遠位端表面の反対側にある近位端を備え、前記遠位端表面は、前記面先端の周りに同心環を形成する複数の平面の段であって、前記ウェルに嵌合するようにサイズ決めされた複数の平面層を含み、連続する平面の段のそれぞれは、前記面先端から前記遠位端表面の外周に向かって外方に進むとき、前の平面の段よりも前記挿入要素の前記近位端に近い、挿入することと、
前記容器をイメージャの光路に配置することと、
前記挿入要素を前記容器内の前記流体試料中に挿入した状態で、前記容器を照明することと、
前記イメージャによって、前記挿入要素を前記容器内の前記流体試料中に挿入した状態で、前記照明された容器の画像を取り込むことと、
を含む、方法。 - 各挿入要素の少なくとも一部が、少なくとも親水性の表面でコーティングまたは処理されている、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記遠位端表面が、前記先端と前記遠位端表面の外周との間に配置された傾斜部分を備え、
前記容器を照明することが、前記遠位端表面の前記傾斜部分に起因する光の屈折を補償するように光を導くことを含む、請求項3または4に記載の方法。
