- 水溶液を処理する方法であって、
前記水溶液は、前記水溶液の重量を基準として10重量%~50重量%の量の溶解している糖固体を含み、
前記溶解している糖固体は、前記溶解している糖固体の重量を基準として1重量%~99重量%の量の単糖を含有し、
前記水溶液は、100~10,000μS/cmのイオン導電率及び100~10,000国際色度の色成分を有し、
前記方法は、前記水溶液を樹脂粒子の集合体と接触させることを含み、
前記樹脂粒子は、1種以上のビニル芳香族ポリマーを含み、かつ、全てのビニル芳香族モノマーの重合した単位の総重量は、ポリマーの90重量%以上であり、
前記ポリマーは、芳香環間にメチレン架橋基を含み、かつ、前記メチレン架橋基は、前記樹脂粒子の総乾燥重量を基準として4重量%以下のメチレン架橋基の量で存在し、
前記ポリマーは、前記樹脂粒子に結合されているアミノ基を含み、かつ、前記樹脂粒子に結合されているアミノ基の総量は樹脂粒子の集合体1リットル当たり1.2~1.6当量であり、ここで、該アミノ基は、構造-NR 1 R 2 又は構造-N + HR 1 R 2 を有し、当該開放結合は、ポリマーの主鎖上の原子に直接又は間接的に連結しており、各R 1 及びR 2 は無置換のアルキル基であり、さらにR 1 とR 2 はいずれも、上記構造中の開放結合を介した該アミノ基の当該窒素原子を介する以外に、該ポリマーの主鎖の原子に直接又は間接的に結合することはなく、

- 前記樹脂粒子の集合体から前記水溶液を分離する後続の工程を更に含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記水溶液を前記樹脂粒子の集合体と接触させる工程は、前記水溶液を前記樹脂粒子の集合体の固定床に通すことによって行われる、請求項1に記載の方法。
